Bachelorette Australia - Georgia Love - Season 2 - F1- F6 - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Regarding to "Two of the finalists", because of how this show is done, the finale week and finalists are considered the F3.

Olena/F3 was considered a finalist by DM and the media and same with Richie/F3 last year since finale week is 2 episodes in that week.

For Georgia's season, FDs have been sleuthed to be in Australia and the episode description for FDs does not mention anything about Singapore just like it didn't mention anything about New Zealand for SamF's season.

F2 episode description does state Singapore just like SamF's F2 episode stated New Zealand. (This is different than the Bach show, but even then, the episode descriptions included the locations if F3 were overseas which is not the case with G's season).

Based on this, I take the 2 of the finalists to mean the top 2 from the F3 (so the ones that go overseas). The mention of another date I don't see why that is mentioned but it could be misleading. If it isn't, then I'd think they'd be posting about it.

I agree the wording in the online article makes it sound like a done deal for Matty & Lee, BUT, the print version in the mag definitely says "Georgia was spotted on a third date, which suggests there was another suitor in Singapore" and I just can't get that line out of my head!  

This is not something you would randomly throw into an article.  The only explanations I can think of are:

1. It's an outright lie.  No third date and no photos of it.  They wouldn't be the first gossip mag to tell a porky pie, but it's such a weird thing to throw in at the end of the article unless there's some substance to it, or it's intended as a teaser for a future story.

2. The third date happened (and is presumably Jake).  They got photos but are holding them back for now and will print them in a big reveal next week with the headline "Shock third contender for Georgia's heart - The dark horse no-one saw coming!" or similar.  They would know everyone will assume Lee and Matty will make the finals (from the preview and their popularity since the show started), and also that people would assume only 2 would go to Singapore.  Also maybe Ch 10 slipped them a little sweetener to hold the photos back a while.  It's already a bit suss that these ones took to long to come out!

3. The date happened, but they DIDN'T get photos, because the it happened in a secret location/out of view of the pap cameras. This may be Ch 10 wanting to engineer a shock/surprise episode since they too would know Lee & Matty are likely to be favourites, and presumably wouldn't want the ending to be too predictable and boring.  This would explain why "it's almost like [Ch 10] have given up on trying to keep the results a secret" (Quote for New Idea).  Because maybe they haven't given up trying to hide it! Jake may well still be F1, in which case they've actually hidden the result VERY well indeed.

I don't want to rain on the Lee/Matty parade here - I was as excited as anyone this morning when the DM article came out, but again, even in that article they used the phrase "TWO of The Bachelorette finalists were revealed" - with TWO in capitals no less - which only makes me think there are more than two.  

Really hope I am over-analysing here and it is a Matty/Lee finale with no twists, but want to go on record with this as I have a nasty feeling we may be getting fleeced.  Maybe the magician has us so entranced with what he's doing with his right hand, we're missing the fact that he's about to steal our watch with his left...

I am with you. I am not getting my hopes up - something seems very "fishy" to me.

Thanks @in–denial ! I feel like I'm bringing the mood down, but those quotes are really bugging me.  Plus Jake was my pick for F1 and I just can't shake the feeling that there's more to come between them.  Happy to be proven wrong though!

Sam Frost
- in an early interview before the season aired, SamF said the exact same thing regarding slow burn and talking about a darkhorse coming in later on
- Sam even went so far as to say that the chemistry with Sasha goes downhill after their 1st SD and said this on The Project.
- Sam Frost even had herself videod with Fitzy and Wippa watching the show of her date with Richie and everyone saying he won because why do that (Sam Wood did the same thing with Lana/F2 and played it like he and Snez had hardly met and Snez even saying she hadn't spoken to him).
Sam Frost also kept stating that people would be surprised by her choice. I recall those of us sleuthing her season were so confused because Sasha was the obvious F1 and no surprise if he is F1 so Sam repeatedly saying in interviews that people would be surprised led to much discussion (I think we went through a whole thread just discussing that )


So the question remains...
1) Is Georgia doing the same thing Sam Frost did and trying to make it seem like she didn't choose someone more obvious? Because honestly, if it was obvious from the getgo and Georgia said this then she would give it away 100% and so her saying she isn't like past leads could be a way to make it seem like it is not obvious when it is.
2) Is Georgia trying to make it seem like she didn't choose the obvious person so she is telling the truth about a darkhorse/slow burn and making sure that everyone that hears her talking about a darkhorse/slow burn and her not being like past leads (so not choosing the one early on) makes it so she gives it away that she chooses Matty (since Tiffany Dunk stated that Georgia straight up told her that the darkhorse/slow burn is Matty J). So why be so upfront about a slowburn even if for Richie reasons. (Also: **Problem with this is that Osher said he picked it early, so Georgia's season included, so how could it be Matty?)

Other than what Georgia is saying to the media, her SM activity is also something to look at considering she liked a pic with Lee in it nearly 2 weeks before the show aired (and around the same time Matty was liking a racy pic on IG) and also liked the pic that the stylist tagged Lee in yet that stylist never tagged Matty for pics post of him and Georgia even though G liked them, Matty wasn't tagged.

True! That with slow burn would be too obvious (if she did mean Matty). But I just realized, maybe with slow burn she actually meant Lee?!! Maybe compared to Courtney Lee was a slow burn? We easily would believe Matty was the slow burn because that is what they are showing us and because Lee has been more hidden. I do believe until about now Courtney has been her F1 but that it soon will change, maybe during her date with Lee on Wednesday. That would explain having all these great feelings for Lee already from the beginning but because of her stronger feelings for Courtney and that being so shown her feelings for Lee until now have been a step behind. That could explain her fear of backlash, maybe she thought people would vote for Courtney because she was so into him from the beginning at the same time as her connection with Lee was not that obvious.

It's just my opinion, but I feel like Georgia liking that pic with Lee in it 2 weeks before the show aired might be a red herring. CMIIW, but the pic seems to have been posted by a former colleague who had occupied Georgia's former work desk and while sitting at that desk she spotted Georgia/Lee on TV, presumably in an ad for the show. If I was Georgia and was following a former colleague I would sort of feel obligated to both recognise and Like that particular post. Unless she confided in this colleague about who her F1 was, it would seem just coincidental that Georgia/Lee are onscreen at the very point in which she took the pic. All JMO obviously.

IA about her liking the pic because of a colleague bit it is interesting to me that the person just happened to have a sc of it when Lee was onscreen (random it could be but if this season is like Richie's then media would know F1, imo, going by the fact it was revealed they knew for Richie's). Also, just by itself I wouldn't think much but given that the stylist posted about Lee first out of all the guys on her account and then first guy with Georgia as well (both tagged) it could be something. Or not. Just putting it out there as a possibility.

Interesting - when did the casting call for bachelor go out? Was it before or after FRC took place? I wonder if they were holding a wide age range for the casting call due to Lee or if it's a new mode of operation

I agree and it was stilted and off putting. I didn't know if they were cutting because the conversation gave too much away. I liked the croquet date better in a way because it flowed and felt less contrived and more hilarious.

I agree, they're all all definitely possible. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] But she used to work for a completely different (smaller) network, and apart from that it's regional TV, which is usually very removed from the metropolitan stations. It's possible that former colleagues have connections in metro TV and may have knowledge of the outcome, but it's not necessarily the case and IMO, we can't lump all 'media' in the same boat. TPTB would be ensuring only the relevant media outlets that have a requirement of being informed of the upcoming episodes are covered, not necessarily all media across the board. And certainly, it will only be the relevant department or key staffers/journalists that are informed of certain info. Whether they keep it to themselves is another matter. (Disclosure: I used to work for a major newspaper in Sydney and my husband worked in TV.)

Saying all that, whispers and rumours spread very quickly in media land, accurately or not, and it's definitely possible that the people at WIN did know the outcome. Who knows?

Re the stylist posting about Lee first: I'm guessing that's possibly because he was featured early and pre-season thereby being A) most recognisable and B) totally hot in anything you dress him in!
