I read that Ashley S claimed that Ashley wanted to let Ben F go earlier, but couldn't. So, we aren't ever going to know the whole story.

We shall see how Ben F handles being the puppet.

Maybe after having been the puppet he will understand more of what Ashley was going through, and cut her some slack!

That would likely be the case. Just like when DeAnna finally began to see how Brad could go home with no one. DeAnna I think wishes she had done the same, but she just didn't want to pull a Brad.

That would likely be the case. Just like when DeAnna finally began to see how Brad could go home with no one. DeAnna I think wishes she had done the same, but she just didn't want to pull a Brad.

Exactly, though I do think she convinced herself that Jesse was it. I do recall Twilley saying that DeAnna really only gravitated towards Graham and Jesse in the down times. I've heard some of the off camera stories too. He was platonic who became romantic after Graham left so I see how she got caught up. It was a mistake and she rectified it soon enough but not SOON enough. I actually did see a connection between her and Jesse on their 1on1 date which is why I initially supported them as a couple. Graham was holding back and I just really didn't see her with the other front runners. I admit it. I picked Jesse for her but that's because I saw what she was seeing at the time.

Good point, maybe AS was attempting damage control. We'll never know what went on for sure. But post show interviews, JP sounded very confident that he knew she would say yes to his proposal, and he was not worried.

On R & K they both said she said ILY first, yet at the FRC, she said she wanted to tell him for so long that she loved him, so it's confusing as he told her at the LCD he was madly in love with her, so she told him before the LCD (at the FD?) or she told him first at the LCD and then he told her? I give up trying to figure it out. They are in love so whatever. :awesome:

Rich, I'm a little late to chime in but re: your comment about Ben having a right to be upset if Ashley truly strung him along.... I do agree but (and I know we saw an edited version) does a guy really think the girl he wants to propose to will only give closed mouth kisses? I know she might have been giving good kisses we just didn't see but, the majority of what we saw were tight lipped kisses, even if they were prolonged. Not to give out TMI, but I know my DH would think I was putting up roadblocks. As a guy-- what are your thoughts? (I'm really int erested ... on a serious note) do you really think he was blindsided? TIA--

As far as the kisses go, of course all closed mouthed kisses would be a sign... if that's truly what happened, which I seriously doubt. She clearly was egging him on on the deck of the boat, with the whole rub lotion on me bit, and we can't possibly know what happened between them that TPTB for whatever reason opted not to show us.

I'm not blaming Ashley, sometimes a man, and I would assume a woman as well, chooses to believe what they think is going on despite evidence to the contrary. And when that happens, and the object of your affection gives you reassurance, it can skew one's outlook quite a bit.

And finally, yes, I do think he was blindsided... again, we can't know... but from all appearances, he seemed pretty confident that his proposal was going to be accepted...

All that being said, that's the game they all knew they were playing from the beginning, and all but one (at least) was in for a possible heartbreak...

I don't claim to represent the male perspective, just THIS male's perspective, and I may be a bit unsophisticated in matters of the heart, but as I said, I would find it very difficult to be all "Cheerio, well played lads, jolly good show"...

and be moving to New York with JP ? it sounds like she might already have made the move .

She will be in NYC this weekend and all next week. She has not moved yet, but likely will in September once she is done with school. My guess is that he has been doing some "advance" scouting for a new place and she is coming next week so they can spend time looking for a place (don't know for sure.)

I think you're right!
She only has one month of school left, but she's been doing a lot of traveling too. It might actually take her until October/November to finish up and move to NYC. I think JP said that in one of the interviews, but I can't remember which one.
