You right I don't know if Amanda knows what she's getting into.

It's because JAM has been set up for success by the way they have been shown to us.

JAM was revealed to the audience as the "winners". Josh actually won Andi's heart and Amanda was a sweet, mom of two who left broken hearted last season.

And the other four were shown to be less than perfect. They are the "losers".  Lace and Evan were shown as villainous and weasely. Carly was shown as an emotional backet case and Grant has been revealed by RS as a lying, cheater.  

We are eating out of their hands if we believe that JAM is any better than the other two couples.

Unless they have re-defined engagement to mean the lowest common denominator: we met, we like each other, we forked and we are engaged, now let's take it to the real world.
Real life engagement hopefully leads to real life marriage. Anyone who has been married realizes that marriage is a tall order and one of the hardest jobs in life next to parenting. 
This show has re-defined engagement into "let's go steady".
