I wasn't watching the Bachelorette (or Bachelor) back then, but hasn't there only been one season where the Bachelorette didn't pick a F1, but instead chose one of her guys to date afterwards?  And, two of the Bachelors chose to forego an engagement altogether - with Brad Womack (first season) walking away completely alone?

I would honestly prefer to see JoJo walk away with no one, rather than end up with a controversial pick at the end.  Then my next question would be this.  Would she then be allowed to date any of the guys from her season afterwards - if they were still interested in her as well, like Robby for instance?

We've never had a ette season not end in an engagement.

We've had Bachelor season, from NO pick (Brad), to plane ticket (Jessie), to ring on a chain (Travis), to no pick (Charlie) but lets date both in the real world to be picked at the AFTR, so we could have a first ette to walk away with no one but I don't see TPTB letting that happen.
