Sean & Catherine Lowe - Bachelor 17 - Discussion #2

I get why people have that impression of Cat though. On paper it looks like she traded in some major, core beliefs to fit with Sean. I mean, liberal, tree huger, VEGAN Seattle girl who wasn't at all religious? Yeah... she made some changes to be with Sean. I mean, no shade meant, people change, and I'm sure Sean's worldview has changed a bit as well being with Cat... but I get why people have that impression of her. 

Sometimes I do think they are funny and cute on IG and Twitter and stuff. I'll give them that. Their baby is adorable. I have no doubt they love each other. I don't think they are bad people, I'm sure they are a lovely couple. They just aren't my thing. And honestly, it's the shoving them down my throat as the "golden couple" that can do know wrong, and the attitude that they do life THE BEST and every other couple is a step below - that attitude turns me off so greatly against them. That attitude partially comes from Sean and Cat themselves, the show in general that has pimped them up and put them on such a huge pedestal, but also sometimes their fan base. It's a turnoff, to be honest.

I absolutely think that Catherine has changed herself to be with Sean. I really don't think she had ever uttered the words "as the man, you're the leader of the house and I'll do what you say" before meeting Sean. If you read Sean's book, he basically says that he wanted her to make changes with her vegan eating and her religion, so she did. He talks about how her dream had been to move to NYC and she obviously didn't do that. You can say that people change and she wanted to make these changes, but it's hard not to notice that Catherine made lots of sacrifices/changes while Sean has made none.

I do think Catherine's happy. I think that she was always really insecure about her body/looks and landing the "hot, popular football player" really helped her work out those issues. Plus, Sean and his family are just so stable and love unconditionally, which is what she was always looking for with her experiences with her sisters and her father. Still, I think that MBC definitely showed that they still have a lot of issues. They have this holier-than-thou attitude and act like they've got it all figured out and need to guide all these inferior bachelor contestants/couples, when they're really not much different than any other couple from this franchise. JMO, though.

Can someone please give a summary of what happened in MBC??

I don't think it okay to say that words to them . I feel like every couples on this show are different . Please don't take this post that I am doing some comparison here . Sometimes it is just fine to focus your positive energy to your favorites than making yourself hard who is the best blah blah . At the end of the day it is nice to see everyone is happy and find love. Jmo

J/K. The show counselors basically called them out for being a little fake and pretending they didn't have issues, they would often remove their mics and hide in the bathroom to fight in private. It wasn't pretty.

I've forgotten most of the details. I do remember them discussing Cat's immense amount of insecurities that stem from meeting on The Bachelor. I also remember them discussing the power imbalance in their relationship  and Cat's jealousy over Sean's female fans. They had some epic blowouts in the bathroom with mic throwing.   

I also remember them acting like they were above all the other couples ... they were too cool for school and were legit and everyone else were bottom feeders. That sticks out to me.


This is going to sound terrible, but they left that show and had some bad press and then BAM they are prego! All is forgiven and people moved on to baby bumps and forgot about the MBC PR misfire. I'm not in any way saying they planned to get prego just cause of MBC, but dang that timing was convenient. Very convenient.

Don't remember all the details, but Catherine's main issues were that she had been called really horrible names by her sisters, making fun of her weight when she was younger, and she seemed to bring those issues into the relationship. She was also super jealous - they made Sean work with another female contestant on the show for this activity and she got into a temper tantrum because of it. She would also pick really stupid fights with him. Sean's main issue seemed to be his insecurities with his failed business and his obsession with money. He came in really judgmental of the other contestants, basically saying that he thought they were trashy or whatever, and a few other couples commented on their superiority complex and fake-ness. When he got into a fight with Catherine once, he asked why she was being such a b*itch and said he was going to walk away to get drunk. They had posters up of names they had called each other and it was pretty ugly. All IMO and my flawed memory.

Sounds pretty ugly. Going from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. Did Bach people really watch that show?

Mbc top customers are from this dating show. So I have to say current  aren't safe . Mark my words.Nope, doubt Bach people watch it . Only those fans for guilty pleasure like bachelor/bachelorette show . Jmo.

Sean, please just stick to your super vanilla persona. You can't pull off edgy humor, you just gross us out. IMO.
