Luke Pell - Bachelorette 12 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I would love for Luke to be the next lead, it's been a long time since I was excited about a Bachelor lead. Though I have to admit I was happy to see Brad 2.0, he will always be a favorite of mine, must be something about Texas

I agree. Luke is the definition of a well rounded guy.

Sorry, fighting in a war and defending your country is never a gimmick. Jake's pilot schtick was definitely a gimmick. Seeing people die to defend our rights, such as posting on this board should never be referred to as a gimmick IMO.

Ok, just to be clear:

Of course being a war veteran is incredibly admirable and brave. I respect what Luke has done for our country tremendously. But this show turns careers and backgrounds into gimmicks all the time as a way of promotion, that's all I meant. And as far as army vets, they've already turned that aspect into a gimmick with Andy Baldwin circa 2007.  The show isn't above that. They did it to Andy in the same way that they did it with Jake the pilot. An Officer and a Gentleman; On the Wings of Love.

I SERIOUSLY didn't mean any disrespect towards war veterans in general. No, on its own, I don't think that's a gimmick at all. I hope that's clear enough.

I didn't like it with Baldwin and I would not like it less now. JMO.
I thought they handled HDDA's season with some respect, but I don't think it's the same show now that it was then. The show seems scummier. IDK if that's a word.

Another chapter in Luke's story . . . US Army Football team.  Looking at him now, I would not have believed he played for West Point, but according to the records he weighed 225 lbs while playing the position of linebacker (true grit IMO).  He has since lost all of his baby fat compared to this football photos.  Luke, a man of many layers that need to be peeled.
