Bachelor NZ: 'You sacrifice your privacy' - Lara
The Bachelor NZ's Lara Christie said joining the reality show has required her to "sacrifice her privacy".
In addition to leaving her job, Christie said the lack of privacy that comes with the show is "starting to hit home now"
"I did end up leaving my job but it wasn't solely for The Bachelor," she said.
"I had a few side projects and travel coming up too. You sacrifice a bit of your privacy which is starting to hit home now, but it's what I signed up for so I'm just taking it as it comes and not worrying about it too much."
Christie, who was previously employed as a marketing manager at SKY TV, said the series had prompted her to "think differently" about her future.
I thought I would put myself out there and give it a go to potentially find Mr Right," said Christie.
"I knew he would have to be a pretty decent guy to be cast as the one and only dream man."
"After watching five episodes of the reality series, Christie believes her former roommate and fellow bachelorette Naz is "petty".
"I think everyone came in with the best intentions but it appears Naz's competitive streak is prevailing over purpose," she said.
"It's pretty disappointing to watch it play. We knew she had some sass but didn't realise she would be that petty. It's not how the rest of us treated each other at all."
Christie said season one's Art Green and Matilda Rice were "proof" that love can be found in the most unlikely of places.
"It's not everyday that an opportunity like this comes along."

Re: Lara Christie - Bachelor New Zealand - Season 2
Lara slams Jordan for 'kissing too many girls' and Naz for back-stabbing
Lara Christie, the latest to leave The Bachelor NZ mansion, has slammed bachelor Jordan Mauger for kissing too many women.
The 27-year-old marketing manager was evicted from the show last night after failing to receive a rose - or a kiss.
Storm, Rebecca, Gabrielle, Fleur and Sarah have all received a kiss on the show so far - and that's too many lip-locking's for Lara's liking.
In an exclusive video interview with Scout, Lara said: “When you start realising that he’s, you know, kissing all these girls. You’re like ‘mate, are you kidding me?’. If you’re not into me, it’s really hard to give a lot back.”
But the Tauranga beauty said she doesn’t regret her laid-back approach on the show. “I wasn’t going to put on a show and dote on him and swoon around,” she said.
Lara says Jordan may be leading some of the girls on.
“That’s what he’s there to do. He’s there to make those 23-odd women fall for him.”
She went on: “This time, on The Bachelor NZ, it’s not really clear who he’s got that connection with.”
One girl who didn’t get a real shot at love is Anna, Lara said, who was evicted earlier on.
“I think it was really unfair, especially with Anna, that he listened to what someone else said about her, but never actually asked her what she said.
“I guess that was part of [Naz’s] game plan. But I don’t know, I just don’t agree with that. I find that a really bizarre way to go about getting a man to like you.”
Like Metz, Claudia, Danielle and the other girls before them, Lara says she is close with the other bachelorettes and there is no bad blood in the mansion.
