so embarrassing how giddy & gushy I am over a couple on a TV show! I have the worst track record for picking the F1 - wrong all but 1 (Andrew) season except the ones I didn't watch (Alex, Plo, Travis & being right on Jason's doesn't count)......but now 2 correct bettes in a row - WooHoo! :D I'm actually happier that they picked the guy that was best for them rather than the one I liked...but it is more fun this way.

I think Chrystie was talking about the Ash in THIS clip...that sassy, goofy, FUN personality that she wanted to see and the funny part is throughout the show she was the most relaxed and natural when with JP in even the moments of intense emotionality...while I do think she wasn't able to put her guard down as much - to a lesser extent also with Ben

It sounded to me like Chrystie assumed that Ashley had arrived at her F2 almost by chance, and it was now up to her to decide which one was better, because Ashley's "gut" was unreliable due to the Bachelor Bubble, or as she referred to it, "the process". She seemed to think, however, that Ashley was just looking for a playmate, not a spouse, in which case, yeah, Ben was a more suitable pick. You would think if she was as protective a big sister as she claimed to be, she would be looking for someone who would make sure her baby sister was treated right and taken care of, and she would have enquired of both guys more about their careers, future plans, emotional maturity, stability, etc. Nope, it was all about someone who could make her laugh (and unfortunately Ashley bungled that question, which immediately put Chrystie on alert), as if that was the only thing that mattered. And Ashley herself is such a bubbly person that what she really needs (and I think she figured it out) is someone to be a willing, appreciative, and loving straight man to her zaniness, just like JP. That's what JP means when he says they totally complement and balance each other.

So many threads going, no clue where to put this post!!

A few thoughts on why I think this couple has a chance. I think we have to look at the couples who we could actually take serious (NOT Matt Grant, Jesse Palmer, Travis, PLo, etc).....

Tessa & Andy: probably didn't make it because she was so reluctant, she never really wanted to move, I always sensed hesitancy on her part.
Mary & Byron: sigh, the biggest disappointment....they seemed more in love than any other couple ever, and their proposal/FRC cannot be beat. Sadly, obstacles in their lives got in the way.
Jen & Andrew: they gave it a go, but he wasn't ready to let go of his guy roomates. That was a big red flag.
Mer & Ian: another couple who gave it a go. I think it was Ian who wasn't ever certain, that showed thru the whole show.
Sarah & Charlie: they were together a long time, again, but he had to grow up, and obstacles in their lives also got in the way.
Then we have Trista & Ryan, and Ali & Roberto: they decided to take that leap of faith, and go full force from day one. Much like Ashley & JP.

The thing that I could see happening is Ashley losing interest....I think she is in love with being in love. We will see if they are too different, or really meant to be. Only time will tell. I hope it works out for them, like it did for the last 2 couples I mentioned.
