The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - ATFR - *Sleuthing - Spoilers* #3

Pretty sure if my husband and I were being interviewed we would not be PDA. And that goes for back when we were dating and when we were engaged too. All of these interviews are slightly awkward with all the final couples. I actually think Ben and Lauren seem a little more natural and believable than most, and DEFINITELY more believable than Chris and Whitney last year.

We can all have our opinions from here until next year. It doesn't matter. As always, time will tell and follow the feet.

There wasn't one in the clip I watched and there was no mention of a surprise other than Ben had some surprises planned for Lauren while they were in town. But nothing to be filmed.

I believe that some of the last part of the show was a way to get Jojo support to be bachelorette. I think she wanted that role from a long time ago. Ben probably did love her - but toward the end, I think Ben knew it was Lauren and was making himself take the hit so Jojo could be the ideal candidate for 'ette. JMO.

It will be interesting the stories that come out of this season. Especially if they stick together it seems more and more of the behind the scenes comes out over time.

At this point I just wish them the best. I think its a good move for Lauren to move to Denver vs Ben to CA. And very glad they didn't even consider getting married last night.

As stated above time will tell, but right now they seem happy.

Maybe I need to muster the energy to rewatch it, but on first viewing, I actually got the sense Ben was telling JoJo goodbye during that LCD. He was doing everything he could to say, without actually saying, I fell in love with you, but there is someone else. JMO.

I don't know. "My feelings for you are stronger than anything I've ever felt before" and "You're my best friend" (or something along those lines) don't exactly spell "goodbye" to me.

Maybe at some point down the line, Ben will write a book. So many of them do now. That's usually where you start to hear snippets of the true story.

I'm really hoping for these two! It sounds like they are going straight to normal life. Denver, Ben's normal job. I wonder what Lauren will do? It sounds like she quit her job? Or at least took an extended leave? Have the Lowes or Kaitlyn/Shawn worked at all since filming? Seems they make a lot of money promoting crap on Twitter. Lauren could for sure do the same, but she (and Ben, really) seem so much more reserved and normal (kinda like Ash/JP, Des/Chris vibe) to try to make a living with all that self promoting and product shilling. I actually am coming around to Kaitlyn and Shawn, but those two are obviously so much more extroverted and outgoing than Lauren/Ben. That shows with the differences in their social media. Personally, for me, I prefer Lauren and Ben's style. But that's me.

One thing I noticed in all these interviews is just how well spoken Lauren is. She really is just as well spoken and poised as Ben, and in that way, they are very well matched. Juliette Litman said it a few times during podcasts and I agree, I feel like if the mood struck Ben, he really does have the demeanor to run for public office some day. And watching Lauren, she'd be a wonderful "First Lady."

Did we see him say all that or voice over? Sorry I missed a lot of the show last night.

Either way JoJo quickly got out of the bubble and is ready to move on. IMO if she really loved him she wouldn't be so ready. Also makes it easier to be easy on him.

To me, Ben appears to want to be done with the show and to just focus on them. That's why I think this may actually last. If they stay fairly low key in Denver doing just a few of the obligatory appearances here and there, I will feel much more confident in their chances.

As far as the PDA (or lack of it), some people are just more affectionate and touchy feely than others. But what struck me was the major contrast with Ben. He seems very different with Lauren now than he did on the show. He couldn't resist touching or kissing her (and JoJo) and now watching him live I feel he seems a little detached too. It's the inconsistency that bothers me. I guess I just expected to see him more into her than her into him.

During that little schpeel about the best friend, my husband and I both looked at each other and said "friend zoned!" He was friend zoning JoJo. Like I said, maybe I need to rewatch to see what you all were seeing. But especially that convo in the bathroom, I truly got the feeling he was saying "I genuinely have feelings for you, but take a step back. There's someone else."

You are not alone.  I watched the Jimmy Kimmel interview and they revealed that they have already been having "disagreements." Sounds eerily similar to Whitney and Chris.  Time will tell.

Maybe the thrill of the chase is over for him but today is usually overwhelming for the final couple, so I usually don't read into their body language for the show and tell of today and last night.
