I'm surprised that no one has really considered this little bit of dialog between CH and Ben:

Ben - "I am more in love than I've ever been, and I would marry that woman tomorrow if I could." (nodding head "yes" - his emotions agree with his words)
CH - (makes a rewind motion with his hands) "I'm sorry - what was that last part?"
Ben - (repeats) "I would marry that woman tomorrow if I could ... I would ... no doubt in my mind." (again nods head "yes" - he's sincere)
CH - "What if I hold you to that?"
Ben - "You mean tomorrow?"

IMO when CH teased "news" - this is what he was referring to - this was clearly planned (and probably rehearsed ahead of time) - but to what end?

On the HTD Ben found out that JoJo's ex wants her back. That's got to be unnerving to anyone especially Ben who seems to have had a bad bit of history with that situation - there's a clear risk for Ben. And with Ben's admission to JoJo that he loves Lauren - which is something that JoJo had seen for herself on the swimming with pigs date - Ben became a high risk choice for JoJo. Though much of this season ending seems to me to be more smoke and mirrors than reality, to the extent that any of it is actually real - each seems like a high risk choice to the other. Two mature people would probably say "this was great while it lasted but it really can't survive in the long term and let's part as friends". IMO that's exactly what they did.

I see Ben as putty in the hands of the tptb....so easily manipulated. At this point in filming, I see him exhausted, confused, angry and annoyed at times....he's just a total and complete wreck.  I think it's possible that she was able break thru the haze of the bubble and see the situation with a clarity that he wasn't able to.  Maybe JoJo's final act of counselor came as she "made things easy" for Ben and pointed him in the right direction?

IIRC MF has always stated that he would love to see a couple so in love that they get married at the FRC. I don't see that ever happening, but IMO of all the seasons of this show, this couple is closer to doing that than any of the past ones.
