This is so (at least for me) not about anything you said. **edited**I feel like it is okay that he loved her. She does not have to be less so Lauren can be more. They are BOTH wonderful.
Edited to add: I am probably not making myself understood here but I am not mad at anyone or blaming anyone. **edited**.

Thank you. Just... thank you. I don't understand why Ben saying I love you to both and his mother (although minor in comparison) have to be downplayed. I love Ben with Lauren but that doesn't mean what happened with him and Jojo was irrelevant. It doesn't need to be explained so that his love for Lauren is more somehow. This was his love story and it got messy and weird. So his mom likes Jojo more... okay she's entitled to. I think Ben was clearly confused and clearly had some strong feelings for both women. One doesn't need to be pushed down so the other can shine. Ben picked. He let one go. He proposed to the other. He has stated clearly he is happy with his decision.

Totally.  There's always a beginning and an end, but it's the story in between that is the show IMO. If I didn't get pulled into that story each year, and just thought, "yeah this always happens" about everything, I wouldn't still be watching 20 seasons in.  It's the human element each season and how people are unique and different and handle the process that is interesting to me. The template is the same, the people make it interesting year after year.

Ben's mom's part in that preview is an interesting part of the story to discuss IMO. I don't think it impacts how he feels or his choice at all, but to me, it helps validate my opinion that there is something there between Ben and Jojo that is almost as strong as what he has with Lauren and it's not based on editing, scripting, producer manipulation and tv trickery - JMO.  And I understand all that happens, I've been watching and reading from the start.  I still try to watch for the human element in the midst of the tv stuff.

Ben told F2 his feelings were deeper than anything he had ever felt, said she was his best friend , loved their passion....then broke up with her next day.
He told F2 he had said ilu to the other but she was still blindsided ( I guess based on the other stuff he said above)
Now they are saying the f2 " chastised" for saying ilu. They had reported that she "understood"
