I agree. I felt like JoJo worked her way up to being upset over the ex just like my 4 yr granddaughter. It seemed so phony and then to go to her family and be slobbered all over by her brothers and the family didn't respect her bringing a guest into the house. You can ask tough questions without being rude and I don't buy for one second it was to protect JoJo. If any family should know they should since they went through it with Ben P.

It seemed to me that they indeed played the role they were asked to play because if not then just WOW.

But I don't believe Ben was in on it so to him it was all real - and uncomfortable as all Heck. I would have about faced too (though I don't suppose that he actually could have). But that would not be a family I would have wanted to be a part of even if I had no better choice available. Of course Ben would find out that he did. Combine the rude and graceless brothers with an ex BF suddenly trying to get back in the picture and a history of things not going well in a similar situation and IMO, if this was real life, I would have been long gone.

All I can say is, thank goodness my now-hubs didn't judge me by my family. That's probably why I have a soft spot for JoJo and her family.

Amen! I agree agent, and the bottom line is if Ben wanted JoJo to be his final one, she would be regardless of her family. I think he has more of a connection with Lauren, but cared deeply for JoJo. She is scheduled to appear as a guest on the local radio station so I will keep you posted.

Guess Ben Patton wasn't ready for love after all. Hope BennyH has a different fate.

I was thinking why doesn't he just turn around and say "Well alright, you can keep her. See ya." and walk out. I'm sure the producers would have thrown a fit, but it would have been the most dramatic HTD ever and they did set it up to look as if it was the last so it wouldn't have taken away much from the drama.

For me this ranks right up there as the most cringe worthy HTD along with Brad and was it Bettina? whose dad basically told Brad he wasn't good enough for his daughter because he didn't go to college and he wanted her to get back together with her ex-husband. Whatever happened to Betina? I felt so sorry for her to have that boor for a father.

Good memory! Yes it was Bettina and what made that HTD even worse than how her parents treated Brad was that Bettina ended up siding with them against Brad. IIRC years after Brad said he knew about 2 weeks before the end that the show was not going to "work" for him and he didn't find love. IMO that puts it right about the time of HTD and I always thought Bettina was his front runner until that disastrous HTD.

IMO this is a good example of how what you learn about a person and their family on a HTD can (and IMO has) affected the outcome of the season, and it's also why I think that JoJo's HTD would have affected Ben's journey even had she been his front runner going in. I just can't imagine Ben spending holidays with them - and keeping his sanity.

I don't know whatever happened to Bettina but is it possible that she knew Jason and recommended him for the show? Not sure on that ... But do seem to remember that it was a past cast member that got Jason on the show.

As I recall, it was Bevin who knew Jason.
