If it's an aerial shot, their legs beneath their knees would disappear like that if they are walking to the water's edge. That's the only reason I wondered, as my first thought was they are lying down, but they both would have their legs exactly the same to not be visible past their knees?

I'm still sort of pissed that they cut so much of their date and showed Ryan. Talk about a waste of time.

I still don't think they are lying down though. The angle makes it hard to tell, but her legs look like their walking to me.

Doesn't the letter look a lot longer than what Ashley read? I wonder if the editors cut out certain parts.

This is so much fun to try and figure the reason this is their fav. picture.

Ok, here's my thoughts . It was when they whispered to each other ILY, (cause no mic packs), so a special moment indeed and JP knew that would be the best picture to start "The Greatest Love Story Ever Told" book? And their FD later that evening was so hot, because they both verbalized how deeply they love each other on the beach in that picture.

OK, that's perfect- ITA!! I really do think he told her he loved her on the beach during the day, and JP talked about how the day was so perfect. I also think they professed their love to one another in the FS, which is why they both were bubbling with excitement in their "ITMs" (which really were the morning after). However, I do think Ashley was trying to get JP to say ILY in the presence of cameras during dinner- hence that whole conversation about what it would take for their their relationship to progress (when JP said he was not looking for one particular thing).

This is why I don't think the ILY came until the FS. I think after he saw her in the long shirt that was the moment, but he waited until they were alone to tell her. We just don't see it on camera until the LCD.

On the beach I think he may have eluded to it, but didn't really come out and say it. If he did then the dinner conversation makes no sense.

We go back to why then is that the favorite picture and not any from the FD before the cameras left? This picture starts the love notebook for them. It seems JP had his choice from a selection of pictures, and probably many scenes not on the screen. I see what you are saying about the dinner convo, though, so it's very confusing.

It certainly does. I think that scene of her reading the letter had to have been recorded and lopped and chopped many times before they got the "take" TBTB wanted to show Joe Public. You can't tell me that Ash wasn't a weeping fool when she read that for the first time. Heck, a lot of us cried hearing it !
