Ashley and JP from The Bachelorette have been doing great together since their engagement was filmed about seven months ago. Now the holiday season is upon them, and they just spent their first Thanksgiving together. It seems that it was a busy day Thursday in JP’s hometown of Roslyn, NY as that’s where the festivities took place this year.

Ashley Hebert, JP Rosenbaum and even little Boo Rosenbaum joined the rest of JP’s family for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Fans can tell from the picture to the left that everybody had a great time, creating new family memories. Ashley and JP joined his parents, Ilene and Peter Rosenbaum, along with JP’s brother Roy and Roy’s girlfriend Andrea. That is one family portrait that is certainly a keeper.

Ashley and JP have been extremely busy of late, having been in Maine last weekend for the 2011 Miss Maine pageant. During the week they are both quite busy with their school/work schedules, though Ashley won’t have to be doing the Philly/NYC commute for much longer. A weekend with family, food, love and laughter sounds like the perfect way to spend a long weekend and kick-off the rest of the holiday season.

The Bachelorette couple got engaged during the show's August finale, but the duo told Us Weekly Sunday at ASPCA's "Blessing of the Animals" in NYC that they haven't got around to setting a wedding date just yet.

"Well, I'm almost done with school. I just have a week and a half ," Hebert, 27, said. "I think once that's done I can start turning my attention elsewhere."

Hebert added she and Rosenbaum are "looking forward to building our lives together. We really are best friends, [so] just being together is a lot to look forward to."

The duo brought their dog, Boo, to the blessing. "I'm so glad he got blessed!" Hebert gushed. "We're so happy for him. [We] had him blessed by both a rabbi and a priest."

And just what did these religious figures say in their blessings for Boo? "Just a prayer for a long and happy life," Hebert explained.

But don't expect Boo to be the ringbearer when Hebert and Rosenbaum eventually say I do. "I don't know if he could handle the spotlight," Hebert laughed.

Rosenbaum told Us the couple both "want to wait for the right time" before walking down the aisle.

In the meantime, they'll be watching Hebert's rejected suitor, Ben Flajnik, when he gets a turn at being the Bachelor this January. "He's a really good guy," Hebert said. "We both really respect him. I hope he has better... You know, a better experience than I gave him."

J.P. tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that he and Ashley will be celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas this year.

Bachelorette Ashley Hebert and her fiance J.P. Rosenbaum are going to have a very busy holiday season. They will be celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas as J.P. is Jewish and Ashley is Christian.

“We’re celebrating both,” J.P. told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at Life & Style magazine‘s holiday party presented by EOS and Alizé at STK in NYC on Dec. 13. “They overlap this year.”

The happy couple will be spending time with both of their families. “We’ll light some candles for Hanukkah and then head up to Madawaska, [Maine] to spend Christmas with her family,” J.P. shared.

“We’ll probably see [my parents] for a night, light some candles because it’s eight days — it’s not a very religious holiday,” J.P. continued. “But they’re going to want to have dinner and light candles and exchange some gifts and then [we'll] head up to Maine.”

J.P. revealed that he and Ashley will spend a night in Portland with Ashley’s sister Chrystie Hebert-Corns, before heading to Ashley’s mom’s house. Ashley and J.P. will rent a car for the five hour drive because they don’t have one in NYC, where they currently live together.

Ashley and JP of ABC's The Bachelorette typically keep fans up-to-date on their latest happenings via their Twitter accounts. Fans know that the duo has been happy and doing well together in New York City, and that they are busy preparing for the holidays ahead. This past weekend Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum were pretty quiet on their Twitter pages, and fans wonder what they were up to together. From the sounds of it, they had a great weekend and got in some fun, relaxing family time. This will be a busy week, particularly for Ashley, so it seems they decided to just take in some of the best NYC has to offer as they prepped for the week ahead.

Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum were spotted in the Chinatown area over the weekend with JP's parents, Ilene and Peter Rosenbaum. It seems they were meeting up for a great meal, and probably a chance to plan more together time. Fans may have wondered how things would go between the Rosenbaums and Hebert given that she's not Jewish, but it clearly has been a non-issue. JP's parents are said to adore Ashley, and the feeling is definitely mutual. They spent Rosh Hashanah and Thanksgiving together, and seem to have more get togethers lined up over the rest of the holiday season.

While the two may have laid low over the weekend, Ashley Hebert is back to commuting come Monday. Luckily, this will soon be a thing of the past. Come Wednesday, Ashley is done with her NYC to Philadelphia commutes! The long days on the train to the U of Pennsylvania dental school will be wrapped up, and Ashley can focus on life with JP and Boo in NYC. She has shared in the past that she is applying for internships in the city, but hasn't mentioned if anything had fallen into place yet. She has said that she is excited to be done with her long commute, and fans hope that wedding planning may be the next step.

Ashley and JP have settled into life together quite well, and now it's Ben Flajnik's turn to hand out roses. Ben's stint as The Bachelor premieres on Monday, January 2, 2012. Hopefully JP Rosenbaum will not be in Roberto Martinez’s shoes next year, but he can definitely empathize with the guy.

JP found love with Ashley Hebert on The Bachelorette Season 7 and they are currently engaged. However, their predecessors — Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky and her Season 6 Chosen One, Roberto — broke up last month, right before Thanksgiving, 18 months after their engagement.

What does JP think about the latest Bachelor Nation split? ”I met Ali. She’s a sweetheart. I’ve spoken to Roberto, great guy,” J.P. told HollywoodLife. “Hopefully they’ll find happiness elsewhere.”

JP sympathizes with them — not only as a new couple trying to make it work, but as a couple living in the public eye. “I know what they go through,” JP told HollywoodLife. “I can speak to that. It’s like dating. Dating never works out. Odds are against you from the start, so everybody is so surprised when it doesn’t work out because it’s supposed to work out. They were on a show. It’s life.”

Cupcake, you sound so cynical! JP and Ashley were also on a show, so hopefully this isn’t a foreshadowing statement about their relationship.

Former Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert has joined the short list of ‘Bachelor’ franchise stars that have actually done something with their lives (other than going on other reality shows, of course.)

Last week Ashley graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine with her DMD degree. (That stands for “Doctor of Dental Medicine,” for those of you who are too lazy to look it up!)

This means that Ashley can officially be called Dr. Hebert now! Her fiance from ‘The Bachelorette,’ J.P. Rosenbaum, tweeted that she will “eventually be Dr. Rosenbaum.” (Hmm…that is if they can beat the Curse of the ‘Bachelor’…I’m not holding my breath.)

Ashley, who started dental school before going on the “Brad Womack Take 2″ season of The Bachelor, had to take a few months off from her dental schooling to star as ‘The Bachelorette’ last season. After filming was completed, Ashley had to deal with the paparazzi following her to and from class.

“They wait outside my apartment for when I leave in the morning and they wait outside school for when I go home,” she told the Philadelphia Inquirer back in July.

By my count, Ashley is one of only four people that have appeared on the ‘Bachelor’ shows that can officially be called a doctor. She joins fellow dentist Blake Julian (from her own season of the ‘Bachelorette’), and former ‘Bachelors’ and doctors Travis Stork and Andy Baldwin in this elite group.

It’s nice to see a star of this show continuing in the career they originally had planned on, instead of getting a taste of fame and then becoming desparate to extend their 15 minutes of fame by appearing on a bunch of other crappy reality shows. (Cough. Jake Pavelka. Cough.)

I’ll bet Ashley’s just crossing her fingers that one day the men that broke her heart, Bentley and Brad, will end up in her dental chair with really bad root canals. Revenge is sweet when it can be drilled into the gums of someone you hate!
