But if what RS reported is false, shouldn't she defend herself? Quite a few people on here mentioned that it was very telling that she didn't respond to the claims about her not meeting up with Jared.

Well I believe her on this. She didn't refute the rumours about Jared, so why this, unless it's the truth?

Notice she was careful not to refute any of the specific claims, leaving it vague.

I'm still of the opinion that Ben didn't outright say "Don't come Becca", but was much more subtle about it. He is a nice guy. We have seen that thus far. With tptb in her ear, his hint may have gone over her head since she probably didn't really want to hear it. Hence, she could be telling the truth or what she believes to be the truth, although with that vague denial, I think she figured it out eventually.

I see this ^  as well. And it's her choice/fear or what have you that she doesn't/can't try dating to get to the relationship phase but I just feel ripped off as a viewer; like she's wasting my time. At least with the other girls who aren't really there for Ben, they are coming across as believable to me and seems as if they would in fact be open to a relationship with him if he did choose them.

I think Ben is pretty honest and straightforward and believe he simply told her not to come in his kind but matter-of-fact way.

TPTB seem to be the culprit here, if Ben suggested Becca not come, they had to know this and invited her back anyway. Maybe Ben just said no to returnees in general and Becca wanted to come back as she says on the show.  Something doesn't add up for me.

That is what RS said IIRC. I don't believe Ben told Becca not to come. I don't think he told her or anyone any such thing. Not even in a "nice" way. It doesn't sound like him at all to tell someone not to come (even in a "nice" way).

I do think though if the producers asked him if he wanted returnees he probably said no and/or wasn't focused on that (b/c it is kind of like BIP and also considering what happened when he was on K's season when Nick came on halfway through and Ben saw how that messed things up) but once they both arrived I think Ben viewed them both with a clean slate and just like the other girls. He seems to be that type of person - open minded.

Just to bring this forward one more time and not to single out this post, but the topic:
Ben knew there were going to be returnees before filming. He was given a possible pool of returnees and said "no" to some. Those returnees he said "no" to did not come back. 
I had heard he was not aware of Becca's coming back until she exited the limo/meat and geek.
