Becca Tilly - Bachelor 20 - #3 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I'm glad you noticed that guilty/sneaky vibe too. I really do think Ben told her not to come; not because he didn't like her, but because he didn't want the drama of having a returnee. Something just seems off there, like there's a backstory we don't know.

I also think they told her she would have a shot for the ette, as she seemed to really want it last year. I don't think she ever did have a real shot though.

ETA: Want to add that it is pretty telling to me that both Ben and Nick seem to be giving her shade which is not commonly done by either of them.

How has Ben given her shade? He's been nothing but complimentary of her in his blogs.

Yea Ben def had a weird expression when she first walked in night 1.
Then this week with his "So what are you doing here??"
Seems to fit with him advising it best she didn't come IMO.
Still convinced he kept her for storyline.
And yea, he seems to like her as a friend and prob thinks she's super pretty, just was never going to have the same interest in her as Lauren B. or JoJo. She was old news, and someone else's leftovers in a sense.

Watch the live AfterShow and Ben's face when CH talks about the geography lesson and says how JoJo and Becca were particularly embarrassed. (It's not far in the show after Ben comes on the set.) And when he has a look of disapproval or dissatisfaction on his face when she walked into the other living room to tell him she was on his season.

Yes of course he's going to write and say complimentary and polite things about her in his People blogs and interviews, he already agreed imo to "work with tptb" and allow her on his season.

Where is Ben giving Becca shade? If anything, he has done the opposite, IMO.  Ben has actually has given shade regarding Olivia so I would think if he was giving shade about Becca he would have a similar tone and words as he does about Olivia. And what I have seen on the shows Ben has been on talking about Becca I didn't see any negativity at all and unless one is spoiled or knows hearsay/rumors/RS/etc, I doubt that it would be seen through that negative lens of "disapproval" which I think is totally from RS.

It's why, IMO, a lot of the criticism is from being spoiled, returnee status, hearsay, SM, and the like and not even the show itself. It's why I prefer non-spoiled seasons.  :Nod: Because based on the show itself, even non-spoiled people think Ben was happy Becca was there.  Many of the viewers from AU/NZ think Ben likes her and they like Becca.

Lace herself was peaking through the door watching Becca and Ben and saying "He is so into her. Now I am worried because he is like goo goo gaga over her." Now I don't think he was gaga over her but what it does show me is that the girls that were there saw that Ben was the opposite of not happy. So I am going based on the show, not a bunch of rumors and by RS and others who want their 15 minutes extended too (and have ALL been on a Bach related show 2x).

Thanks for posting what has been rather obvious to me regarding the tag-team returnee package of Becca and Amber. Ben wasn't excited when the returnees interrupted his 1-1 time during the first episode. When Becca started with her "OMG I'm so nervous" act, Ben actually called her out on the BS! He said come on Becca - you know how this works. TPTB left that little nugget in for some reason...  

Becca has learned how to play this game better than she did the first time around. She was already a pro at the SM game last season and played some adoring viewers like a fiddle. She's delivering all of her lines about why she wanted to come back, why this will work, etc. like a - well, like someone who knows how to play the game when the end game is the Bachelorette role. It cracked me up at the group date party when she grabbed Ben before he even settled on the sofa! Ben will continue to play the game with Becca (and crazy Lace, etc.) because he signed a contract to do so.

Speaking only for myself: I don't need RS or spoiled/unspoiled viewers anywhere on the planet or SM "likes" or anyone connected/allegedly connected to Becca to form an opinion of her. Becca's actions speak much louder than their words.

I know I've said this many times, but please don't link cast members when defending the person whose thread it is. It doesn't matter what the other person has done in your eyes, each member here has the right to have an opinion whether others find it logical or not. It can come across as insulting and judgemental and this is supposed to be a safe place to share opinions and ideas. There's a fan thread for those who want a positive only place.

I did watch it and didn't see any shade. A squint that might have nothing to do with Becca is hardly shade to me. I do agree he didn't exactly jump out of his seat with excitement when Becca walked in the first night, but that might've just been because he was confused and already overwhelmed by meeting 26 women. He said himself in some interview that he didn't really know why she was there at first, to give advice to the other women or to stay. That kind of leads me to believe he didn't know she'd be joining despite the persisting rumours that he had to choose from a pool of returnees. He seemed genuinely surprised and confused to me.

I do agree that he looked genuinely suprised and I don't think he had to choose from a pool of returnees. If he did, I seriously doubt he would have gone with Amber!

I don't need any of that to form my opinion, either.  

I agree that Becca's actions speak louder than their words and I see her actions as the opposite of negative/terrible. Becca's actions tell me she was interested in Ben and so she went on the show for him (and all the other stuff just like ALL the other girls) and the majority of viewers like Becca as well based on Becca's actions.  

I have yet to see how Becca's actions make her this terrible person worthy of intense dislike.  If I went based just on actions, Amanda's and Caila's, IMO based on what they did prior to going on the show I find much, much worse than Becca's. :Nod:

^ Answered above about shade. And I am not relying on nor do I need to rely on RS or anything to do with what he or anyone else has said. In fact, if you were to read my posts from the time when that info was first released all the way until just after watching the first two episodes, you will see that I believed Becca was on the show for the reasons I mentioned above—Ben and/or the B'ette. Also as mentioned above, after watching this season to date based on the Show same as you, I believe Ben doesn't or didn't want her on his season.

^ I saw that about the shade and disagree completely that that wasn't shade at all.
If it was, it was the most non-shade shade I have ever witnessed.
