Becca Tilly - Bachelor 20 - #3 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Anyway, suffice to say, as much as it was alluded to it was the worst thing ever for Becca to come back I think it was a great decision on her part. She is someone who works as a chiropractic assistant without that much demand (yes she still works there, I see sc of her at her work) and so she took time off to travel, meet Ben and make new friends, and even more fans and followers.

Speaking of followers and fans - a lot of the Aussie and Kiwi viewers who are watching the show like Becca a lot and so she has a whole new fan base just based on that alone.  :Nod: Compared to just staying home and not being on the show? That's not bad at all. Even Lauren B tweeted about Becca, follows her, etc so seems like she liked her too as far as this franchise goes and JoJo really seems super close to Becca and besties. None of these girls are part of the "drama" either for the show. Win-win, I'd say for a returnee (same as Amber) and regardless of not being F1, still a positive experience overall.

AAL I agree with so many things you post but disagree about Becca.

We can all speculate about why the guys don't like Becca but we don't really know. Maybe they have met her, maybe it has to do with Jared, maybe it's because of her coming back to the show a second time. Maybe it is something we don't even know about. SM can be a bit*h but you have to take the good with the bad when you decide to go on a reality TV show x2. They have just as much of a right to voice their opinions as anybody else.

Becca has every right to go back and do the show again. She works in a field where exposure can be helpful (modeling, promoting products). I see being a chiropractic assistant as what she lists as her job, not something she aspires to or wants to continue in. This is an assumption on my part but that's the impression I have. If she wants to travel, meet new friends, meet Ben and gain SM followers by all means do the show. In doing that people will either like her or not and they have every right to voice those opinions and question her motives.

Speaking of followers and fans..... the number of followers on SM in my opinion does not a good person make. Many people follow others that they don't necessarily like. Followers can be bought. I have no doubt that she is liked by other contestants but liking someone after you've been on the show with them doesn't necessarily mean they are BFF's. I imagine the F1 follows lots of people for a variety of reasons. If having thousands of fans and followers is a goal she has doing the show probably helps. A large number of followers does not impress me. It doesn't with the Kardashians either.

As you have probably guessed I'm not a Becca fan. When she comes on the screen she irritates me. I don't think she came on the show just because it was Ben. I don't think she stays until F5 because Ben wants her there. I think in the end she will be a non factor. I hope she isn't the next 'ette because that would be a season I would skip. I don't think this show is a good fit for her to find the man of her dreams. She knows that too.

That definitely makes a lot of sense, but from what I understand, Becca and Lauren B are actually friends. Same with Amanda, and Becca was (and still is) the closest with JoJo (and I was the first one to ever mention that).

I just went back and looked at people's SM from the time when Becca and Jared had supposedly planned to meet. It was the second to last BIP episode when Jared was a guest on the aftershow. He hung out with Nick on Sunday August 29 and then was on After Paradise on Monday the 30th. Becca posted a picture with Katie's family and Hannah, her little sister, on Saturday, then a pic with just Hannah on Sunday and another pic with her and their nephew on Monday with a caption about them being tourists together in SD. Seems like her family was visiting her that weekend, making it impossible to go meet Jared in LA. I also suspect she knew by then she'd be on Ben's season and didn't know how to blow Jared off without lying, so she just didn't contact him again thinking the IG pics would be enough to let him know she won't make it. Maybe not the best way to handle it, but I'm sure she knew Jared would be disappointed either way and didn't want to add insult to injury by pretending she was just busy and there was nothing more to it. I doubt she would've made concrete plans if her family was really visiting, rather they talked about the possibility and then she just did a disappearing act once she heard she'd be on Ben's season. You may disagree with how she handled it (though this is just speculation either way), but I don't think continuing to talk to Jared and pretending nothing's going on would have been any better. That would be pretty deceitful. Or trying to explain why she suddenly wasn't interested when she probably was, just less than in going on Ben's season. She has no one but herself to blame for putting herself in that tough spot, but I doubt she took any pleasure in hurting Jared's feelings. Most people these days date several people at the same time, let alone just talking, so she's hardly some hussy for it.

But then once the guys heard she'd be going on Ben's season and RS claimed she was there just to promote clothes brands and Ben didn't even want her there, I can see how they would've thought she wasn't there for Ben and simply chose fame mongering over sweet Jared. Doesn't mean it's true though. I don't think any of them have even met her. Well Nick did in passing, but it's not like he knows her personally either. He wouldn't have met her in those fame-mongering events if he hadn't been there fame mongering himself. Just saying.

I've said this before, but Becca wouldn't have gone back on if the Bachelor were anyone other than Ben. Y'all can disagree, and that's totally fine. It's your right, and after all, different opinions are what make message board discussions great, right? But the reason I am so adamant about that is because I was told that by multiple people who would know. Just like I've been adamant about RS being full of poop about Becca's family running their mouths about a hometown date. He was wayyyyy off on that whole thing, and not just about Becca's family running their mouths. I just thought I would share (again).

We'll never truly know if she would have gone on for another guy unless she pulls the same stunt next season so it's kinda a moot point at this time in my mind. I think she would have and there's really nothing that could change my mind. Just like I don't believe ending up with Ben was her end goal.

Here's my two cents. From what I understand, Becca reached out to meet Jared the weekend of BIP premier which was August 1st. I was told at that time, not the end of August.

Here's a nasty thing to say, and only my thoughts at that time. She probably thought Jared had a good chance of being TB, but then got info it most likely will be Ben? It's all speculation but for me, it was totally rude of her to initiate the plans, he flew into town a day before, and she doesn't show up, and doesn't respond to his message. I can totally see his buddies sticking up for Jared. If it was the other way around? There would be a backlash on SM like there's no tomorrow.

All it takes for something to get out is one family member to tell a person and then they tell someone and pretty soon RS hears about it. None of them would admit it. Of course it could have been someone else in the town or the show. I just don't necessarily believe denials.

It's also possible that the guys know that Ben didn't want Becca to come on and she came anyway. That wouldn't endear her to them in addition to the rumor about her and Jared. I doubt we'll ever know the truth because I don't see Ben saying anything.

Of course Becca made friends on the show. It's not like she's a horrible person.

Pretty sure it was the weekend before Jared was on After Paradise with Ashley I., so after Ben had already been announced as the lead. Jared seemed pretty quiet then, I thought it was because he felt bad for hurting Ashley, but who knows if there was more to it. He hung out with Nick the night before.

As for clothes, etc? Even Lauren B has the company/store that she got her dress from (the yellow one) cross promoting. JoJo does as well as does Amanda. Caila even has photographer taking pics of her as of last week in clothing for a blog it seems. So it's just what they all do. No exceptions.
