It's really getting out of hand and very sickening. I would have thought those 2 would have moved on after 6months. Right now, i don't even care what's in the report. I just want the season to be over.

records older than 5 or 7 years are generally not considered relevant in hiring, etc. **edited**

I know you are talking about the record that is being discussed on the MAFS show. However, you made a very generalized statement regarding employment.
Yes, records over 5 years matter to an employer depending on the charges. Theft, violence, DUI etc may matter to a employer no matter 5 or 10 years earlier.
I interviewed a guy who had been in prison (found out after the interview) and did not consider hiring him. Did not know the charges and did not care.
Now, if someone addressed and explained the charges upfront during the interview and it was a one time minor charge, I would consider the candidate. This would be after I verified their story.

If I were picking complete strangers to move in with and be legally married to, I'd probably screen out people with any criminal record.
That's fair.
If I knew someone personally over a period of years and many conflicts etc I might overlook it.
If I were producing a show for entertainment I might be fine with a criminal history that was in the sort of past because angry outbursts make for good drama in a reality show.
The disgusting part would be withholding the information from the person moving in with and marrying the stranger. That's a very material omission.

Married at First Sight's David Norton Responds to Domestic Violence Rumors: 'I Would Never Hurt Anyone'
After weeks of rumors swirling on social media that Married at First Sight's David Norton was previously arrested for a domestic dispute involving an ex-girlfriend, the reality star – who wed Ashley Doherty on FYI network's hit show – tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement what exactly happened in 2007.
"Getting Married at First Sight has simultaneously been one of the most intense and rewarding things I have ever done in my entire life. I believe in love, and I've always wanted to be a dad and to have a family of my own. I was so excited to get married and find a life long partner. Since my wedding day, I have certainly made some mistakes in my marriage, but I have always tried hard to be a good husband, and a good person.
"Watching Married at First Sight each week is a slightly surreal experience. Not only are the ups and downs of our marriage replayed like home movies for me and my wife to watch, they are also replayed for the public to see.
"Nobody can prepare you for how intense public reaction can be. In general, it's overwhelmingly positive – so many people want the best for me, my wife and the other participants.
"Nevertheless, Ashley and I have both faced some heat since the show began airing. My wife has received threats from anonymous people sitting behind a computer screen, which is totally vile and inappropriate.
"It also seems some people are looking to find dirt on me. And let me tell you, I'm not perfect. I was arrested when I was 21, after I got into a loud fight with my brother when I caught him with my girlfriend. I smashed a phone in anger, and I wanted nothing more than to get them out of the house. While I was angry, I never hit anyone. I was cited for disorderly conduct, and I ended up attending one two-hour class. Neither my girlfriend nor my brother ever filed charges, and I was never convicted of any crime. I was young and stupid – it's something that I deeply regret and it isn't something that I'm proud of. But I learned and grew as a person, and as the years passed, I reconciled with both my brother, and my ex-girlfriend. Today I can tell you one constant in my life has been that I'm human, and I make mistakes, but I would never hurt anyone, and nothing even remotely close to this has happened since. As much as I wish I could change the past, I cannot. All I can continue to do is to improve the man I am now, who is a far cry from who I was in 2007.
"For Ashley and I to be vilified in the ways that we have been on social media has been beyond hurtful. Those who appear to want nothing more than to taint our names seem completely content in their smear campaigns. Please remember, all of us on Married at First Sight are flesh and blood – with real lives and real feelings.
"Ashley and I both opened our hearts and took a blind leap of faith when we got Married at First Sight. We were full of hope and love. And despite the ups and downs, I would recommend it to anyone. I still believe in love, and I have grown and changed for the better. Thank you to the viewers who have, since day one, rallied around us and rooted for us. My life has been touched by all of you."
Both the network and production company Kinetic Content declined to comment on the matter.

Wow amy!!! Excellent find!
He always sounds so positive IMO. It sounds like he's doing just fine regardless of the outcome.

I wondered if something would come out in the media today after the rogue twitter account claimed that he had released information to the media.
That account claims that the police report version they intend to release tells a very different story that we will be told tomorrow. I don't understand the point of the tease. But whatever.

So much ado about nothing as suspected. I don't see how David could be totally lying about what happened, since his ex could speak up any time and set the record straight. He's not that stupid.

Thank you for the article to clarify the David situation, with the way some people were threatening him and production I was hoping he would speak up as some of them seemed unhinged IMHO

Kinetic should not do blind matches between people where one has even an old record and even like this (and I think some material info was omitted). There are many other fish in the sea, and if there aren't, then find another show concept to produce.
"Married at First Sight ... to someone with a record"?
That's a far cry from marrying a longtime, trusted lover and companion who had a reckless youth history.
They have like 28 days or something together in this "experiment," there isn't time to sort and work through Crap-ola like the time you were so angry that someone called the cops, and you ended up pleading, etc etc., or last season's Sean's recent DUI.
David could have thought twice before subjecting himself to this scrutiny. That he went ahead is no big deal. I'm sure he has many attributes, and remorse for the incident, and disgust at the social media of it all. No judging from this corner.
However, that Kinetic cannot seemingly staff two editions of its franchise with all six people having no criminal record is a lot harder to overlook.
