When I posted the Tweet upthread that said they were recruiting a writer from "You're the Worst" to be The Bachelor or be on The Bachelorette..I just shook my head when I saw it. Granted, he could have totally different thoughts about love and relationships in real life than those in the script that he writes for on that show..but if anyone has watched it..yikes.

I'm 51 and asked my 25 yr old son, who lives and dates in NYC, if dating now really is like Trainwreck and he said yeah that there is a lot of indifference and messiness to it. So, maybe TB is becoming more real in that way and it resonates with its viewers ratings wise. If so, poor Caila, given how they could possibly twist the fairy tale theme.

I don't think Caila's perfect, nor do I think SHE thinks she's perfect. I also don't think she's ever called herself a princess, though I may have missed that.  

I'll bet she'll get snippy at times.  And weepy.  And overemotional.  And confusing.  And OTT. And rude.  And I imagine she'll display every other personality trait ever displayed by a lead, good and bad.

I like what I've seen of her thus far, but I may not like her by the end of the season.  But it really doesn't matter, because it's just a TV show.  And at the end, I turn off my set and go back to my real life.

MF sees this all the time, he doesn't care IMO. Those that are not in favour of their choice, will tweet him, those that are ok with it, won't bother tweeting him. There are plenty of positive comments from SM pics that were posted yesterday from @realitysteve

I have seen this with every past 'ette. They all get negative comments.

I diasagree IMO Caila is getting way more hate than past people. Weird that he tweeted "whats the problem" though, so obvi he noticed...

Ashley wasn't a very popular pick going into her season and it turned out pretty well. I didn't like her on Brad's season at all but she ended up doing pretty well other than letting Ben get down on his knee and propose.

The thing is there are no perfect fairytales. I don't think there are fairytales period. In real life there certainly aren't and this show never pretended to deliver such. If any of the cast get confused about this issue, they surely must be reminded of this when they sign their contracts as it is spelled out in black and white.
If cast sign a contract that indicate they can and will be portrayed in any way possible and then bad portrayals are mentioned this is no fairytale. This is not a case of expect the unexpected. This is a case where the writings on the wall.

I hope those folks tweeting Mike Fleiss can get through this difficult time. I'm amused any of them actually thought TPTB cared what they wanted. They'll pick whomever they want every time.

I'm excited for her season regardless of the backlash. The majority of those folks saying they won't watch will be there every Monday night invested in Caila's "journey" and rooting for their favorite to end up with her.

Well according to Becca's tweets she'll be in Louisiana this weekend. Will we see another film crew, I wonder...

Wow, that's crazy. I thought people would have calmed down, but this really does feel like Britt 2.0. I kind of feel like people bond over their hate of the lead and hate-watch and sometimes that helps ratings. Juan Pablo and Jake, arguable two of the most disliked leads, had some of the best ratings. Just a feeling, though, but I don't think Fleiss made this decision on his own. He's always said he doesn't care about diversity on the show (that pizza analogy), so there must have been pressure from the network executives if that's the reason she was picked. This does seem like a bit of a risk, since the Bachelorette always does worse in ratings than the Bachelor and when they've had boring or unlikable leads, the ratings have dropped. It'll be interesting to hear from you all how the edit goes that season and how they sell her! I definitely could see a Bentley type of "I wanted Jojo!" storyline occurring. IMO.

And those same will be oohing and aahing over her and her journey and the love connection and hanging on every nuance as a clue. SOS every season.

If we see another film crew, I suspect we will also see a huge pot of boiling tar and her family right there with a bunch of feather pillows, ready to tar and feather her.
