I totally agree on all points. Maybe things will change in next few episodes but I just don't see Jo Jo being that into Ben. Shoot, just look at their body language in the site's above banner at the table. She has said she is holding back and has said that she sees his connection with Lauren. TPTB can use that at AFR.

All they need to have her do is come on ATFR and say something like, yes, I was blindsided but watching the season, it is clear that Ben was in love with Lauren. While she opened her heart to him as much as she could at the time, there was always something holding her back. Now she knows it was that feeling in her gut about Ben and Lauren.

On Afterbuzz with Danny, a guest host and three super fans, every one of them picked Lauren for f1 and Jo Jo for next Bachelorette.

They also all said that Caila was inauthentic and that it was huge red flag about dumping boyfriend for Ben.

 IMO it could explain why in their edit, instead of trying to hide Ben and Lauren's connection, they're even showing the other girls' comments on how obvious it is - I noticed they had JoJo talking about it in an ITM right after Lauren left for her 1-on-1 in episode 7.

IMO JoJo being F2 can be easily a non issue. A few articles how she did see the LauBen connection, it stung a bit, but it's been months and she's over it. Her being congratulatory at AFTR, would easily stay in people's minds.

I'm with you 10000%. They can spin the JoJo heartbreak, if that's what happens, by saying, "Look, 4 very very loooong months have passed." Of all the seasons that I see an F2 potentially being the lead, it's this one, IMO.

JoJo knows what's up, just like Ben did, and may be playing her part knowing that being the lead could be in her reach. JMO. I would love Jo as the Bette. PINKHEART

welcomeyall InPrism! ITA that it would be good for them to cast a WOC next season.

It doesn't hurt that Caila's dad talks about the Filipino culture in her HTD. Not sure about Jojo's since it looks like there's plenty of drama.

I respectfully disagree with you. Television is a visual medium. Looks ARE important when it comes to visual medium. Also, representation of diversity DOES matter. If diversity didn't matter, then why would Sports Illustrated go through all the trouble this year to have three different women of shapes & sizes as their Swimsuit Cover models? Having Ashley Graham as one of their cover models made history and was a big deal for some women who look up to her. If diversity doesn't matter, then why would Mattel go through all the trouble this year to produce Barbie dolls with SEVEN different skin colors, three different body types and shapes, and 22 different eye colors? When you look at American Girl brand dolls, they show a diversity of dolls - different hair & skin colors. Representation and diversity did and does matter to those parents and kids who asked those doll companies to make a variety of dolls with whom they and their kids could relate to. I personally think that having the Bachelorette producers cast a woman of color would mean a lot to some viewers. JMO.

I'm also surprised that no one has asked Amanda on social media or through interviews yet what her ethnicity is since some people on this forum has asked more than once about it. On the topic of Caila being considered for Bachelorette, I personally wouldn't have any problems with that. It's not going to be the end of the world if Caila is chosen as Bachelorette. If JoJo is chosen, that would be good, too. I've been a longtime viewer of this franchise. I've read this forum for the longest time. And I felt I finally needed to go out of lurkdom to share a few thoughts. Have a nice week.

FYI, regarding the bolded above, I found myself down a rabbit hole before the show aired and ended up on Amanda's aunt's (mom's sister) Tracii Show's website. In one of the excerpts of her book Bottom Feeder, that she wrote while in prison, she mentions her ethnicity. I forget what that is now but I included the link below for anyone that has a quick moment and wants to check. As an aside, one thing I do remember in the excerpts is Amanda's aunt dated Keanu Reeves.

^^^And all that brother drama with Des on Sean season helped her nail the lead. And she was sobbing, begging him to reconsider.

Maybe Jo Jo's brothers were hoping their actions would put the kibosh on the relationship and put baby sister in perfect spot for Bachelorette. Unbeknownst to them, two crying kids made bigger impact in scaring away Ben.

Actually maybe the reason why TPTB are showing so many of the girls, including Jo Jo, acknowledge the Lauren Ben relationship because they care more about setting up next lead. They want viewers to believe she could move on.

According to Amanda's imdb, her middle name is "Dahan" http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2997781/

It may or may not be her mom's Maiden name. Apparently it is Jewish/Arabic.

Here's the page on Amanda's aunt's site that talks about heritage.

bio

In case the link does not direct you there, here's a copy & paste.

Growing up in California, the daughter of a French Moroccan Princess and a poor charismatic Irish American from 8 Mile Road, Tracii demanded praise and acclaim from the time she could walk and talk.

From that I would say that choosing "bad boys" seems to run in the family.

No to Amanda or Becca as Bette

Mom and Tracii's maiden name is actually Show. When I fell down the rabbit hole, I found a photo of tombstone of Amanda's grandma -- Nelle Bohbot Show -- on her cousin's, Gabrielle Show (Tracii's daughter's) IG which is pumpkinspicegab. I can't bring it over but it is at 82 weeks ago. I know it's sleuthing but can I just add that I feel extremely creepy, almost dirty bringing this up.  hmmm

From RS's reader emails:

3) Have you heard any talk at all from any of your sources on whom the front runner is for being the bachelorette.. ( I know you never release “hear say” information and will only report it when it’s official but I was just curious if you have heard anything) Not really. I hear a lot of things. This week I heard it was gonna be JoJo. Then two days later, I heard Caila. So there’s plenty of rumor and speculation going around right now. I’m pretty confident it’s gonna be one of those two though. And since I still haven’t figured out a way where they can go with JoJo on their current shooting schedule, I’ll say it’s Caila.
