Thanks for the video!!! Hope this couple will be one of the success stories!   Having watched most of them since Aaron, (the second USA Bachelor), has made me cautious.  I want to be hopeful though, since I really like these 2.

Brill, I share your caution. I've so enjoyed their story and really hope the best for them. They seem so well suited for each other. That said, the craziness of Sam's new life causes me to hesitate just a little. The reality couples that seem to have the most success in the real world are those who get back to their normal lives...which is not completely the case here. Hopefully, Sam's new opportunities won't preclude them from building a solid connection and future.

One thing that does give me hope is that Sasha seems like a patient guy...and very solid. He seems to be a cheerleader for Sam to pursue her dreams and seems willing to wait for her to get established before moving towards marriage and kids. Whether they can go the distance remains to be seen, but I will definitely be rooting for them to be one of the success stories.

I'm glad others are starting to pick up on this as well.

In the first episode of The Bachelorette, Sam was all about wanting to meet the right guy, settle down and start a family. YET, hardly had they come out as a couple and she was saying that those plans are for a few years down the track and she wasn't ready yet; however, Sash was saying he wanted to just get on with it, get married and have kids as he wasn't getting younger and he knew he had the right woman in Sam. He also implied he wanted her to be a stay-at-home Mum, but she said she didn't want that. He said they'd 'compromise'...... Now she's on radio, and he's been swept up into her crazy world of socialising, black-tie events, and it's go-go-go all the time. True, it should settle down, but not anytime soon.

Even though they seem to be crazy in love, I'm not sure Sam is willing to put her career ambitions on hold to be a dotting house-wife and Mum - which is what Sash is all about. Their goal is to have 3 kids - that's difficult to do for normal families, let alone people with such hectic, public lives.

It will be interesting to see if they do go the distance based on her ambitions and his more traditional outlook. I do have my doubts. Which will be sad for Sash, as he's such a great guy and adores Sam (if I were Sam I would have taken him off the market immediately). However, looking in, he's the one doing all the compromising at the moment. He's going to give up his job down the coast to move to Sydney; he has to wait until Sam is ready to marry and have kids; he has to attend her functions; he has to do the week-end travelling; he has to put his dreams on hold until Sam is ready. She clearly wears the pants in the relationship and takes the lead in all interviews. She called herself on the show "little Ms Bossy-Boots" to which Sash replied that she was lucky she was so cute (but cute doesn't last forever when you start irritating each other).

Sash is going to have bite his tongue......which is fine, as long as he's happy to bite hard and let Sam dictate their relationship. But, I've seen it too many times where one person in a relationship is the dominant figure, and eventually the relationship breaks down......

I think the Aussie franchises are completely different than US ones. No pressure of engagement for starters but also, like Tim and Anna who have had a lot of endorsements, walk red carpets, etc, and started new business ventures, as well as been on TV again (Celebrity get me out of here and DWTS Aussie, etc) they are still together 2 years on so I think normal life is different in Oz than it is in the US and seem very normal to me even with doing all that stuff.

Also, Sam is used to the spotlight and has been for a years before being a contestant on Bach AU S2 (her ex was on a TV show there) and it didn't change who she was and I think she is still the same Sam (but better and stronger for all she's gone through). And I think Sam being someone who is so proactive about the relationships in her life (she goes to Therapy once a week just for preventative measures) I think she and Sasha can definitely make it work long term. They have both their families support and the support of the media that matters as well as the nation too which is always good.

^ Just to add... Sam is 26, Sash is 30. Sash already has his career up and running and Sam is just now starting and he is very supportive of her and has the ability to be supportive because he is stable in his career. I don't see Sash as being the "traditional" guy who wants someone to have babies and be at home. I think Sash on his own has shown he wants someone like Sam and I think Sam is good for Sasha. Probably the best type of person for him, imo. They have a lot in common and similar drive and Sash has posted how proud he is that Sam is driven. She's still young at 26 so I think it is perfect timing for her to establish herself career-wise since Sash already has and they can be partners in life.

Sash's tweet is cute for filling in for Sam. He seems very proud of her and very supportive of her new career/gig.

Thanks, AAL and AV, for your perspectives. I really don't know much about Sam...or Sasha...mostly just what I've perceived based on the show and some post finale interviews. I do experience Sasha as someone who is willing to let Sam get established...and thus, not pushing her immediately for marriage and kids. Sasha has repeatedly stated that Sam is one of the most family oriented and grounded woman he knows...so I will take him at his word.

These circumstances remind me of their discussion regarding her insecurities about it just being her when the filming is over. I have no idea if this was an issue between her and Blake, but it seemed to be a genuine fear. Sasha's patience towards her at this moment in her life could be one of the most loving and generous (and potentially healing) gifts he can give to her (imo). To me, it speaks to the selflessness of love.

I love how Sam and Sash refer to each other as best friends and besties, etc. It bodes so well to see the person you love and are in love with as a best friend. I also love that they both cheer for each other and are fans of each other and let this be known. Like Sam said at FRC to Sash, they are a "Team".

As for her insecurities, etc, one thing I love about Sam is she doesn't pretend to be someone she is not and yet is not stuck up about it, but just honest while being self-deprecating and caring of others too. She is also a great communicator (something that very few people are) and will always be upfront, just like she was with Sash on the show, and in a very sincere way. She was the exact same way last year with Blake - even going as far as to BEG him not to choose her unless he was certain -- she was so vulnerable on that show and filming for 4 months she was literally walking like she was an emotional wreck. It's why she was so hurt and blindsided when he dumped her. I think when one is upfront and honest then it is on the other person to be so as well and if they are not then that's on them so I always understood Sam's pain because what more can one do then just be oneself and honest? Sam was this way and always has been -- about her failings, her flaws, her doubts, etc.

Sam is as "real" as it gets, IMO, when it comes to contestants/leads for this show in showing ALL of who they are as a person -- warts and all. It's why I have always had a soft spot for Sam. In fact, she is the reason I joined this forum. I am a fan of hers and always have been, and while she is flawed, she always owns this and never makes excuses for herself. It's why I just kept the faith for over a year when there was only doubt or backlash on Sam and I just believed that Sam would be great as the Bette and she passed my own expectations with flying colors. It's why as long as Sam is happy, I am happy. And Sash seems to make her very happy and that's what I love to see and what Sam deserves, imo.

Well said, AAL. Truthfully, I think it was the genuineness and authenticity of Sam that drew me in to this couple. Her vulnerability and ownership-of/ability-to-articulate her feelings impress me. I hope she can stay true to this...and I have no reason to doubt that she will.

Love it!   For me, too. It's what I loved about Sam on Blake's season. She was so real, genuine, raw, vulnerable, and owned all the parts of herself and more importantly, had the courage to just be herself. The same Sam seen as the Bette is the Sam from last year. Just a genuine person - warts and all, and someone who doesn't always realize how special she is, is self-deprecating too, considers others feelings, etc... (in some ways Richie actually reminds me of Sam from when Sam was on Blake's season... very similar in personality both as contestants... so it is no wonder that Sam herself said in interview that he was like she was on Blake's season and wants to see him shine and as lead). I have no doubts Sam will stay true to herself because she was able to do so after going through all she has last year and her entire life. Nothing she has ever faced has stopped her from being open and honest and just genuine, flaws and all, about herself. So I don't see that changing.

I come into this from a slightly different perspective, as I didn't watch Season 2 of the Aus Bachelor as I didn't like Blake Garvey from the beginning. I found him sleazy and I guess I was right about my gut feeling. Thank goodness I didn't waste my time watching.

As a result, I don't know Sam Frost at all. And as I didn't follow that season, I didn't know anything about her, what her personality is like, and I didn't read any of the drama after the show. All I heard was that the chosen female was dumped by Blake (at the time I thought, well there you go, just as I suspected, he was a sleaze-ball). I only realised it was Sam Frost when the promo for the Bachelorette came out and everyone started going on about how it was her who was dumped.

The only Sam I know is the one I saw on Bette.

To be honest, it's not that I think Sash and Sam won't make it. There is just a little bell going off at the back of my head, and I've learned to listen to that bell.

Having said that, there are a lot of points in their favour. Sash is a lovely decent guy. He's loyal and knows her history, so he'll support her no matter what. He's totally in love with her, and loyal in-love guys usually support their woman through thick and thin. I also think she's in love with him, which all bodes well for them. There is a lot of public pressure on them to make this work, seeing as they fell in love in front of the public, so they almost have no option but to succeed. Imagine if they ever did break up? It's unthinkable. Australia would go into mourning and they'd have to move overseas  

I wish them good luck. We are all crossing fingers it works out for them. My bell has been squashed and I will continue to watch as their relationship continues to blossom
