It's a surprise not to sleuthers but to viewers.
Viewers don't expect FIR Sasha to win - no matter how obvious it is (and it is because it is "too" obvious is the reason).

The poll is 82% Michael and 18% Sasha.
Based on the poll it doesn't matter what is seen on the show, viewers see Sasha as an underdog in the polls and least likely to win.
Thus that poll itself proves viewers don't expect Sasha to win.

Here's the thing. I thought it was an article bringing you to the voting poll so I clicked on a picture which happened to be Michael and it registered by vote. How many other folks have done this?

It did the same with me and the placement on top just makes it easier to vote without realizing.
It's why I think it is rigged (just like the leaderboard has been) so that people buy into Michael being possible F1 and then there's ol Sasha as the obvious one all along.

I am just annoyed that Bette Aussie used "love blossoming" for Richie and Sam. Bleh. Obviously there is that 1% but I don't see it other than in my heart. :/

how can this be a surprised when sasha is mentioned on TEN board being the top 3 for weeks... is on facebook (place I was told is THE most visited in australia) ... is talked about in pretty much every interviews?

Sorry to differ again here... for me, it hardly categorize the guy as a "you will be pleasantly surprised" kinda announcement.

Contrary to magazine and online reports, the professional soccer player turned real estate agent said that he and Brant have never been involved — because he’s never laid eyes on the stunning performer. “I have not met Lauren Brant.

“Any suggestion of an affair is categorically incorrect,” The Bachelorette frontrunner continued.

Turnbull is one of the five men left in the race to capture Sam Frost’s heart, with the high-pressure hometown visits coming up this week.

For me this reminds me of previous season.

On Tim's  ALI was the favorite...and ended up as F3...
On Sam's Wood Heather was the favorite and left as F4
I think this time Richie the favorite will be F3 ( and next bachelor )

I believe Richie will be F3, I see more chemical and physical attraction with Michael (F2)

Lets not forget is Sam doing the choosing. I don't think she's looking for a good friend. Like any young and healthy woman she wants much more, like someone who can light her fire!    
So correct me if I'm wrong, but if a couple don't feel any passion and hunger in the beginning of a relationship then...little chances are they will find it with time, and most likely they will end with a great friendship or in divorced!

For weeks Sam didn't show any particular interest in Richie. Later she finally invited him to a questionable ( ONE on ONE date    with ALL THOSE people around them for most of the say But obviously is was the best date ever! ( SO FUN and so very different from anything they had experienced before) But viewing the last portion of the day and those few  "kisses" , to me it looked more like they were planned in advance, a test or a token of appreciation for a wonderful day!  Sorry but didn't see any special physical attraction there.   Who said you need to be in love to kiss someone in this show?  

The only one that from that first moment she meet him outside the house showed to make an BIG impact in Sam was Sasha!!
She even asked him not to go inside and stay a little bit longer with her!! FIRST TIME I SEE THAT HAPPENING.
And later she spoke to the cameras saying "NOW WE ARE TALKING!"  Another first time happening in the show.
And AFTER she got to have a conversation with him .. she was still in shock  :shocked!: and gave him the first impression rose!  

Obviosly, could NOT give him her first ONE ON ONE... but gave him her 2nd ( could NOT wait to be alone with him ) And a dancing Tango date    knowing she would have to get very close to him!
AND the time she took to pin that ROSE!! It was like saying  GO AHEAD AND KISS ME you...  I AM WAITINNNNNGGG!!!
Poor Sam... she had to wait to that evening..
And those first kisses were like.... WOW!! .. She even went for the second round with a very bold  .. "COME HERE"

I was like... did she really do that ???:shocked!:  

So to me it is kind of obvious Sasha is the  only one who really lights her fire!  And if he is still there and getting his 2nd date it probably means  he most have kept her interest

I think a lot of seasons there are 3 "types" of contestants/edits: F1, F2 and viewer favourite/next lead.
Sometimes there is crossover (meaning the favourite is F1, this is rare and was seen in the case with Matilda).
But usually there are 3 contestants who get the F1-edit, the F2-edit, and the viewer-favourite/next-lead-edit.

For me it has been this way for a while (compared them to K's season of Shawn, Nick, and Ben H):
F1-edit = Sasha (guy one step ahead of the others, the one chased by lead)
F2-edit = Michael (painted by media as the "rival" to F1, the one rejected by lead)
Viewer-Fave-edit = Richie (painted by media as favourite and marriage material, and usually next lead)

I have no doubt sam had a huge crush on sasha. no doubt
but it did not last more than 3 episodes IMO
Once she went thru the nervousness, she could have a normal conversation.
IF he is the one, then I am sorry for him that she deliberately picked Michael under his nose for extra time after not one but two group dates, reserving this special fun facts cards for michael (meaning she took a lot of time to think about multiple cards to write personal things about her) and considering that he offered her the 4 drawing and she gave nothing back to him.

Her reaction at wippa sealed the deal for me as well as the kiss avoided in the vineyards and the not so happy look on the air balloon (or boat). The mother who seem to do not appreciate her as well.

Again, he WAS the frontrunner for sure for the first 3 episodes. I have no doubt. but as she said... after that it went downhill.

I most be watching the show from another parallel reality! In my reality...he is obviously ahead!
