Olivia Caridi - Bachelor 20 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I figured out why I am in Olivia's corner. I'm more like her than the other girls. I'm the tall dork who would rather read a book than do my nails. I've put my foot in my mouth more than I care to remember (sometimes I wish I had one of those "flashy things" they had in the Men In Black movies). I've also been one of the girls who the popular girls decided was not as good as them.

As much as everyone said Olivia was unliked, it was interesting that there was no celebrating when the girls found out Olivia didn't get the rose on the 1-1. They actually seemed to feel empathy.

Ben is really not a fan of Olivia based on him liking those mocking/negative tweets about her and his reaction on BL last week and then liking a tweet yesterday about sending Olivia home.

I don't think I've seen Ben be like that towards any other contestant ever. It makes me think some things may not have been shown or he found out something later on after filming (maybe she was a plant or something?) and just doesn't like her at all.

I will be interested to see what Ben writes about Olivia in his blog...

I've been in her corner too! And I like how she just focused on Ben and always handled the drama very well. When Ben asked if she was shocked some girls didn't like her, she said she knew it and never blamed anyone. And when Ben let her go, she was being calm and didn't cause further drama.

I feel bad for her edit due to her awful social skill, but I think she's a few of the decent girls this season.

Yes, a decent girl, much better than so many other girls this season.
And I don't see anything she did says otherwise. She maybe socially awkward, but she was not bitchy, mean or anything like other girls.

Yeah, I see her as socially awkward or that is her edit, but she isn't a mean person, IMO.

I agree with you peggy0221. Olivia never was shown gossiping about other girls behind their backs like they were about her. Talking about her appearance, toes, clothes, breath etc....here is a good article where she made fun of herself. At least she can laugh about it.

I disagree. She's only 23. I'm not 100% sure I would have been considering contracts and producer manipulation, etc. at her age. Just because TPTB can cash in on it, doesn't mean they should imo. Their own conscience won't stop them, but viewer sentiment could have an impact on how far they take it going forward. I'm seeing some changes this season on SM. There's been some backlash and more conversation about it in blogs like Sharleen's. Trista, I believe (CMIIW) started some anti-bullying campaign which Cat is supporting and I noticed Cat and Sean, are tweeting less harmful, (but still funny) stuff. Jillian has made some comments. Also, RS finally did something useful. He pointed out that Olivia's done nothing so horrible as to justify what's happening to her and that people who tag her with their insults on twitter are losers. There are actually people tagging her saying "I hate you." Blows my mind. If the producers don't tone it down, I honesty think this show could end the day that one of their villains victims commits suicide over the ridicule. Luckily, Olivia seems pretty strong, but the perfect storm of emotional instability, lack of resources/support with this over the top bullying is not going to end well at some point if they don't stop being completely reckless with these contestants lives. jmo.

Same! I would 100% be the Olivia in the house.

I think that it sucks that just because she wasn't one of the popular girls, everything she did was analyzed and criticized whereas the popular girls in the house got away with saying things like "she has bad breath", "her boobs are obviously fake", "she has fat toes", "she wouldn't get along with other soccer moms", etc. it's just so hypocritical of them to call Olivia a bully and it sucks that the average viewer doesn't pick up on that. They just whoever TPTB tell them to hate. IMO.

IMO Olivia got out on top. TPBP may have tried to paint her as the villain, but she was a much better woman than I would have been. From the start she heard the other women were gossiping about her, and she just let it go and didn't trash them back. If Ben liked tweets making fun of her, that just shows lack of his character. Disappointing!

I think Olivia will be okay. She seems to have a sense of humor about the whole thing and good for her. I think she learned some valuable lessons about herself as well on the show... hopefully one of those is not to go on BIP or anything else.

MF's tweet about Olivia showed me he is just full of it and saying he thinks she is just misunderstood. If that is the case then that's just him wiping his hands clean after he has already done the damage.
