I don't think Becca calling home necessarily means that was a part of negotiations. It seems she's the one who contacted them. CMIIW, Usually negotiations are for those who have no intention of being on the show and TPTB are the ones who negotiate to sweeten the deal.

Like I posted elsewhere, maybe she was having a real difficult time and wanted to talk to family.

There could be many different reasons IMO.

If we believe she was allowed to call home then we can surmise that there were negotiations imo.

Surmising does not make it fact.
Nor does it mean any negotiations needed to be had or put in a contract, imo, unless said contract is seen.
Also, we have no idea if the others have called home or not.
I know from other Bach franchises all girls get to call home and have monitored social media access.
This may be something they are doing now and returnees like Becca just may be more pronounced based on the longevity of them being on the show...

Does it really matter? We should be able to use a term without people jumping on it imo. I believe that Kasha's source was right about Becca being able to phone home. We don't know if she negotiated this in her contract or asked for it but in any case it appears to be an extra right that most don't have. I don't think it's fair but then I don't think she should have been allowed to return.

That really makes sense. IMO it's probably one of those facts we may never have the answer to unless she writes a Tell All book!

Yes, it really matters, IMO. The countless number of posts where things can be taken as fact when they are not only adds to this and, IMO, then spirals into discussions of what is fact versus opinion which can be avoided entirely when they are presented as one or the other. I like to sleuth and know what the facts are from speculation and love speculation since it may or may not turn into a fact. But presenting one as the other is confusing at best, IMHO.

The bolded "we don't know if she negotiated this" is why these two statements are confusing... It's one thing to state

As a return contestant the line of communication is already open it seems regarding Becca, if her own post on her thread is any indication as well as those who post claiming to know her. Plus her recent Taylor Swift lyric tweet is also something specific to her and thus indicates she had differential treatment. So all this certainly indicates that she is being allowed to do things a bit differently than other contestants. I guess time will tell why that is. It may be a negotiation thing, it may not be. But at the moment there's no evidence stating it is fact that it is.

I'm new to the Bachelor Nation, Chris Soules was the first Bachelor I watched. How much control does Ben have over who goes on what dates or do the producers do most of the deciding?

I understand why people had a problem with the word "fact", but I think BH just meant it as a figure of speech. I also think it gets hard, because EVERY piece of information we have of something happening off-screen comes from an unnamed source. We don't even know if Becca DID get to speak to her family...we just have a "very reliable" source saying she did. We haven't literally seen her call them or seen phone bills. RS said his source that said about Ben telling her not to come was "very reliable" too. Do we just accept something as fact because it comes from a poster here, instead of RS, even though most people have gotten bad information at some time or another? Why is that allowed to be expressed as "I know this to be true" (no IMO included), but BH can't use "fact"? It just all seems very inconsistent and confusing to me.

Agreed. What is the difference between one poster hearing that Ben told Becca not to come and another poster hearing that Becca was allowed to communicate with her family? In neither case was any actual proof provided (whether it was in the form of text messages, phone bills, FaceTime screenshots, etc). Don't get me wrong, I don't expect anyone to reveal their sources or give us indisputable evidence. It's not that serious. We can believe what we choose, and we can use what information we believe to draw our own conclusions. At the end of the day, 99% of what is shared here is NOT fact. It's all an open-ended and fluid discussion that will only get confirmation when the show airs, something definitive is leaked, or when it comes to a lot of the minor details discussed here, never.

I don't think it's that complicated. If someone here gets info from someone else and posts said info here, that's not an opinion, even if it turns out to be wrong. An opinion comes from your own thinking and is not necessarily linked to what someone told you.
Back to Becca, I believe she was able to talk to her family for whatever reason. We may find out why or we may not. Time will tell. All of this is jmo.

In that case, we're getting information from RS...so if someone says "Ben told Becca not to come", that's not an opinion either. That's an alleged statement. Yet, we have been told we can't say that unless we provide proof or say "IMO". Again, confusing and inconsistent.
