I think it says a lot that Nick was so supportive of Ben and there for him and that Ben thanked Nick first.

We may never know the real story (Nick really may have turned the gig down), but I think Ben and Nick do and it's something that is pro-Nick, imho.

Nick is a great guy! It's easier to see the "goodness" in some people, because of their personality and their perpetual positivity. For some, you have to look beyond the personality into their heart to see the "goodness." I feel that Nick belongs in the latter group. He is a great guy!!

It must be hard to have people question your every move, but I am aware of this reality. The heart is all that matters. Once again, Nick is a great guy. He may not be to everyone's taste (who is?!) but at his core, he is a great guy!


...I have "followed" him since 1.0 and have seen and read A LOT ( talking about positive stuff) that I just had to say this!

Simply LOVE both posts and photos by Ben and Nick! I have no doubt Nick was of great help and support for Ben entering into this experience. I can just imagine the insights he must have given him. Nick knows how TPTB works inside and out, how the process can get to you, how to deal with publicity, with fans (and non-fans), etc etc! I would really like to see Nick in a role of the "official counselor" for the leads/cast on these shows, could you imagine that?? That would be great fun for sure He can help them sort out things and not get affected, focus on the reason they are there but in an interesting, playful, and not so serious manner, etc Great guys these two! Impressed that Ben thanked Nick first!!

Not sure where to post this since not allowed to post anything about Nick in Ben's  Bachelor thread but it is about Ben by Nick for Us Weekly.

Nick had such great things to say about Ben! He is a class act!

No sore losers here! The powers that be at ABC chose The Bachelorette's most recent second runner-up, Ben Higgins, to be the newest star of The Bachelor. That means two-time Bachelorette runner-up Nick Viall is solo once again, but he's no sore loser.

Kaitlyn Bristowe's other castoff opened up to Us Weekly about his former romantic rival being chosen as the newest Bachelor, and he had only nice things to say.

"I think ABC made a great choice," he tells Us Weekly exclusively of the decision. "I think he's one of the few people that actually lives up to the hype. He's a very sweet guy and now that he's the leading guy I hope we get to see the other great sides of Ben. Ben has an edge and I hope that he shows it!"

I've followed Nick since 1.0 as well and totally agree. He IMO really is a great, witty, handsome, intelligent guy. NOT perfect and doesn't pretend to be. When you truly like/support someone you do it both for their good traits and their bad IMO. Most people who have met this guy one-one in person have nothing but praise for him. I don't think he can fool that many people. What I saw of him tonight, it looked like he was doing all he could not to burst out laughing during the fake out portion which is why it cracks me up that some think he was "fooled" or "tricked" into thinking it would be him. Again like AAL mentioned, we may never know what has gone down the past couple months but I defintely don't get that it was ever a Nick vs Ben for Bachelor thing to begin with. The media took off with Nick's notoriety and his answering "potential Bachelor" questions but I don't think it was something where they were actually competing for it. Nick's choice of wording in his instagram "they made the right choice" in relation to Ben being Bachelor doesn't seem like wording that would be used by someone who was deeply invested in the role as well. I would imagine of course "Congrats and good luck!" type writing/statements but not one basically calling yourself a bad or lesser choice. I don't know if Nick flying to L.A. was a great coincidence for TPTB to create the fun of tonight while he was on perhaps modeling business or if Nick was just here visiting and humoring his friends at the show by participating his this tonight but just shows how good natured and supportive he will be to people he cares about/considers friends. I did notice in Ben's instagram how he thanked Nick first out of everyone for the support Nick showed for him atleast in recent days.
