I'm so glad I found this site. It made watching JPash's love story so much more fun!

Of course Ashley "could" have stopped him, but when taken by surprise, how do we know how we or any othe person will react? I think the question should be more "did Ashley want Ben to propose to her even though she would never accept" I think that's where it becomes clear that it was not intentional and just one of those things that you regret forever but can never plan out or change. Ashley is not a mean person, so as long as she didn't plan it out and get some sick satisfaction out of it.... I'm just going to feel bad for her and the backlash that is going to come from Ben fans.

Yes, it appears it's him - I think that's my biggest shock with how the season ended

I'm not going to bash her, but I'll admit I'm a little disappointed. I think most of the Ben fans on here feel the same way I do, with a couple exceptions from yesterday. I had a strong feeling there would be a F2 proposal, so I'm not really all that shocked to hear what goes down. They gave us a lot of foreshadowing and there was no way we were getting a typical FRC with an obvious F1 at the end of this. I don't think Ashley meant for it to happen or that she's a mean person. I'll wait until I actually see what happens before I make a harsh judgment.

I disagree. I think Ashley could have stopped him. But I am not going to argue with anyone about it, it is done, and really, these people don't affect my real life at all.

Just an opinion from another average viewer here. I think both Ben and JP acknowledged that they could get hurt in the process. It seemed to me that was the stumbling block for JP in telling Ashley how he felt at the FS date, because he had been hurt before in losing love and knew that kind of pain. Ben on the other hand, had felt the pain of losing a father but I'm not sure about the pain of a failed relationship between two people very much in love. With that said, JP seemed to have considered that he might not be the last man standing, however I'm afraid Ben never considered that. Not because Ashley led him on but because he was so caught up in the fact that HE was in love that he didn't imagine that she wasn't in love as well.
