Okay, let's get real here! If it was JP who was F2 and rejected after proposing and he "stormed" off the way Ben did, we all know what we would be reading here! It would be all about how - I told you so! - JP was a psycho all along and this proves it, I was right, my sources warned all of you and here is the proof! So let's please not be insulting with this hypocrisy. Now that it's Ben, suddenly it's the crime of the ages. One would think that Ashley committed a capital offense! Oh my goodness! She didn't stop him before he proposed! Off to the gallows with her! Honestly, this is getting more aburd by the moment. This cherry picking of the faults of the guy you don't want to be F1 and then more cherry picking and accusing the lead of now being heartless to the core because she didn't pick your guy, is like a kid having a temper tantrum because he didn't get his way!

NNY, there is no doubt in my mind that this would be the reaction of certain people, but there is also no doubt in my mind that JP would not have reacted in anger to Ashley if she rejected him, because he was not overly confident/cocky at that point about his chances. Yes, he absolutely would have been crushed, maybe even broken down and wept, but he wouldn't have lashed out at the woman he was madly, deeply in love with, IMO. According to the spoiler, there was a distinct difference in attitude between the two guys when picking out rings and JP was very nervous, while Ben was sure he "had it". I think that this foreshadowed what would have been two very different reactions the men would have had towards rejection.

hmmmmmm, guess I misread Love_Me's post saying that any post before her closing the site CAN'T BE QUOTED. Guess I was wrong.

I was going to just stop posting for the night, but I had to come on here to say that you have made an excellent point! I was trying to use a hypothetical scenario and didn't clarify that I do agree that JP would not have acted that way for the reasons I gave in an earlier post. He had already assessed the possible risks, accepted that he might get his heart broken and was prepared to take a leap of faith. So I do absolutely agree with you that JP would have been hurt and sad, but would not have stormed off in anger. That is why I took pains to make the point that JP and Ben seemed to have processed this differently.

I just didn't have the chance to make the additional caveat that JP would have been able to handle it much differently.

I am speechless at the continued lack of respect...and for those that "know" me on this board, I'm rarely ever at a loss for words. If we truly care about San and Love_Me, please stop the personal attacks. The two most kind and loving people that work so hard to make this a special place for us to share our passion for this show, are the ones being hurt the most in this process. Please do not let the destructive tornado destroy this board.

If you are in this thread (and yes, I'm talking to you too :Nod: ) and have posted to read the information that was so graciously shared with us by Love take it and laugh, cry, jump up and down, push pins into your eyes or whatever else you want to do. This isn't a place to rip people apart it is a place to enjoy something that we all have in common, keep it that way. If you don't have something nice to say keep it to yourself, I can not even imagine how hard it is for the mods to keep this place in order and we would have none of this without them so we have to respect their only rule if we want to take part in the celebration here.
