Yes, you can blame Ashley for a portion of it........She allowed him to continue.......when he first went down on knee.........she should of immediately stopped it. That is what I blame her for..........it's called respect for someone that she says that she really cares for.

Okay, let's get real here! If it was JP who was F2 and rejected after proposing and he "stormed" off the way Ben did, we all know what we would be reading here! It would be all about how - I told you so! - JP was a psycho all along and this proves it, I was right, my sources warned all of you and here is the proof! So let's please not be insulting with this hypocrisy. Now that it's Ben, suddenly it's the crime of the ages. One would think that Ashley committed a capital offense! Oh my goodness! She didn't stop him before he proposed! Off to the gallows with her! Honestly, this is getting more aburd by the moment. This cherry picking of the faults of the guy you don't want to be F1 and then more cherry picking and accusing the lead of now being heartless to the core because she didn't pick your guy, is like a kid having a temper tantrum because he didn't get his way!

NNY, there is no doubt in my mind that this would be the reaction of certain people, but there is also no doubt in my mind that JP would not have reacted in anger to Ashley if she rejected him, because he was not overly confident/cocky at that point about his chances. Yes, he absolutely would have been crushed, maybe even broken down and wept, but he wouldn't have lashed out at the woman he was madly, deeply in love with, IMO. According to the spoiler, there was a distinct difference in attitude between the two guys when picking out rings and JP was very nervous, while Ben was sure he "had it". I think that this foreshadowed what would have been two very different reactions the men would have had towards rejection.

Thanks for this and all of the threads, although this addiction has got to end cold turkey (in about a week)!

Wow!!! Thanks Love_Me for the awesome secret decoder ring post. I thought it would be like one of those e-mails that say you'll only get to see something hysterically funny if you send the e-mail to 10 friends within the next two minutes. Glad to see posting actually unveiled something so rich in detail. There'll be sweet dreams tonight and now I can't wait to see it on Monday. Hope BHO doesn't interrupt the festivities with another press conference.

Exactly! Ben was totally sure she was going to pick him just as Jason was sure DeAnna was going to pick him. They go to the ceremony thinking all they have to do is propose, want to take command of the proposal scenario and rush down on one knee before the woman can get a word out. Ashley was crying over frickin' Lucas leaving. Do you really think that she would deliberately try to hurt or humiliate someone who she loved in a way as, at the very least, a good friend. She really liked Ben a lot. Had he been a better kisser, he might actually have stood a chance.

I also think that the mindset about proposals is wrong. Why is it considered to be a humiliating act? Kneeling down before someone to ask for their hand is a positive and honorable thing. It is an expression of love. It shouldn't be frowned down upon even if it is turned down.

I cannot believe people already have the lynch mob out to burn Ashley at the stakek for a choice that BEN made. He should have let her talk first. But he was so frickin sure he had BEAT JP, he didn't even want to hear what she had to say. Then his reaction is really kinda akin to a response the guy in that video would have given. I feel bad for him but I am also a little disappointed in him.

I'm never right with my F1. Can you imagine how many times I was "heartbroken" with the F2/F3s? How many times I felt bad with the F2 getting down on their knees?

Was it Albean99 who said to stop the F2 proposals already? I super agree! I love JASH (not obvious, eh.) Whereas, I love Ben for myself. I actually cried during his HTD. Arrgh, I tear-up even just remembering it. I will surely cry during his proposal. But like most of you said, like very season I've been feasting on crow and have seen my F2s get heartbroken, I never blamed the Lead (even partially) because I know I'd to suck it up and deal It with because this is the nature of the show.

Oh, NNY. I vividly remember and by no means this is an attack because we've clearly seen in the posts made how the support of JP's declining edit (i.e. "dangerous temper", "impossible to be around) was largely based on the "numerous" infos of those "sources". Yes, I remember it was a "neutral post" because those "sources" stood "firm" that Ben is F1 and was basing the posts on what the "sources" said. I agree with your (bolded) post, every time JP with an appearance of "declining edit", posts would be "my sources are right". I'm sure if JP is F2 and have done a Ben, it would be like "yes, my sources said his edit would decline down to the FRC"

I haven't heard from those "Sources"? I wonder how they like their crow? Medium rare or well-done?
