Ben picked out a ring. Ring = proposal. That's what my 14 yr. old niece just said. She said why don't people get that? Leave it to the kids to tell it like it is.

I find it fine that others feel that they can express their opinions.........when I try to do it, I get attacked for doing so and totally run over like a mack truck..........funny how standards only go one way......

I am 64 years old and have been around the block a few times in life. Haven't seen anyone attack you or your ideas. You seem to be upset because you have a hard time convincing others you are right. You have every right to express yourself but we have every right to make up our own mind.

Amen! The problem we keep having here, is that when someone expresses a point of view that does not conform to what someone else has decided is the only correct way to interpret something, then the volume gets dialed way up! What are we supposed to do, never say what we think or agree with what we are told to think? This need to impose one's personal point of view on others, is what causes all of this turmoil.

From what I read, no one here blamed Ben for what happened. What they did do is hold him accountable to some degree for deciding in advance that he had this in the bag, without ever even considering the possibility that JP could be the one. For all of the endless criticism and trashing of JP, how interesting is it that he actually considered the fact that his heart might get broken again. He weighed the risks and benefits and made the decision to take a leap of faith, not hold anything back and take the biggest risk of all. He said to Ashley on their HTD, at the end someone's heart will be broken. So he went into the FRC knowing that it might not be him. Ben never even allowed himself to consider this possibility and that may well have been why he reacted so strongly. That is not blaming him. That is illustrating that JP's maturity and previous heartbreak helped prepare him for the worst, while hoping for the best.

Of course, we are discussing this without having even seen it yet. It's dangerous to presume too much and jump to conclusions. Let's see it all play out and then make judgements about how the three people involved behaved. I just know that if it was JP who was rejected and reacted so angrily, that some here would use that as proof for their hypothesis that he was some sicko who was dangerous and Ashley would be well rid of him.

Let's not make a big deal about this. He didn't say "HOW DARE YOU LET ME GET DOWN ON ONE KNEE" ... He was blindsided that he wasn't the one. He gladly and willingly got down on one knee because he wanted to marry her. He should have been ready for even the slightest possibility of a no because that is the way the show works. If he does it in real life, and the woman says no, he's got communication issues. LOL!

The point that I was making earlier that seems to be conveniently forgotten about.........I said that if we were all to be honest on here............if this same scenario happened to JP, wouldn't there be lots of posters here crying foul and this board would be alive..........so why is it fine when JP is the F1 and then the blame gets put onto Ben..........talk about redicilous. I seriously doubt that Ben is at fault with this. Seriously, as a guy looking at this situation, this should only happen once in his life.........the proposal I mean, and to finally get to that point that you want to propose to someone...........wouldn't it chap you azz to do that with someone and they didn't feel the same way?? Then to know in your heart that the person could of stopped you from doing it and taken that special thing in your life away from you..........seriously, how would of been fine with this if it happened to JP??
