Here are my thoughts, for what they're worth (not much ):

I think the following facts may help to assuage some of the anger that may be directed towards TPTB/Ash next week:

1. These spoilers are going to spread all over the internet, so people will know what to expect.
2. RS is going to post the same thing tomorrow, so even more people will know.
3. ABC has even released a new promo showing both guys proposing.
4. The JPash love story has been so real from the very beginning.
5. The ATFR will show that everyone is fine and has moved on.

So while I think people will be upset, I don't think it will be anything near what the Deanna/Jason debacle was. .

Bottom line, the backlash will be pretty swift as well. The fact that it was done once before is bad enough..........now it is done again. And to make it worse, it seems like no effort was made to stop it. That is the very sad part for the F2........it is bad enough to be rejected, then to get down on your knees to propose to someone you love, just to end up being rejected. Not good. No matter who the final 2 is, proposing to someone is a special thing that usually only comes once for you.........now for that joy and one time thing to be "wasted" on someone that doesn't feel the same way and that person could of stopped him from being in that position to begin with, just isn't fair.........not much respect shown there.

Coastal, I think this is a very open-minded, open-hearted post. You and I did not see the same love story this season, but I really, really appreciate all your hard work.

Stop this nonsense. We all have a right to OUR OPINIONS and do not have the right to judge others for their opinions. Ironcat can express her opinion and we should allow her to do so.

This is getting as old as company after five days...it stinks. :crazed

Let's just have some good old talk about how great it is to finally have a love story to read about. :loveboat:

I think Ames said it best ... We all want our fairy tales to be simple ... but they are not and that is why it's beautiful.

Proposal or not, there is not a way for the F2 not to feel bad. I don't sense regret from Ben about the proposal. Jason tripped on it but I think he's a wimp. I think Ben went in thinking he had it, didn't consider that JP was a factor and thought he was walking off with the prize. He may be quite self-involved. Perhaps he was giving himself credit for opening up and assuming that Ashley was the reward for that. He was miles away from JP as far as depth in the relationship. I still like him and, perhaps, if he didn't have an angry exit, I'd cry. I was ready for a weepy rejection now I'll be conflicted and wonder who Ben is.

Given his raunchy video, maybe he's A PIMP! LOL!

Yes, you can blame Ashley for a portion of it........She allowed him to continue.......when he first went down on knee.........she should of immediately stopped it. That is what I blame her for..........it's called respect for someone that she says that she really cares for.

Dare I say.........if JP was the F2 and things happened the way they did with Ben.........this board would be alive with anger regarding how Ashley handled things but because it was Ben as the F2, the JP fans are fine with things to the point that they are saying that we should all cut the new couple some slack..........talk about a double standard here.

I agree with you that Ames said it best. Nothing about life and love is ever simple, even if it starts out that way. :married

Bravo! I agree completely... except my opinions are always right and I'll cut anyone who disagrees with me. :dripdrip

I will say though, I'm so thankful for JP and Ashley willing to put themselves through this ringer. Of course they didn't handle everything perfectly and of course they'd do certain things differently in hindsight. But, I got to see something so beautiful because they were willing to just go for it. I'm the biggest cynic of them all, but I've spent the last two days looking at pictures and Youtube videos, sighing and crying, when I really should be doing some budget analysis. The whole thing has made me so happy, I'm even enjoying Reality Steve!

Love you all (especially San and Love_me; I think I'm old enough to be their mother, but I so want to be like them when I grow up!)

I saw that it was going to be Ashley and JP early on. That's who she wants and it wasn't hard to see. I expect both guys to propose. I don't know where all of this outrage comes from regarding 2 proposals when that is the premise of the show. What is the big frickin deal. A proposal isn't the death chamber. It's an offer take a hand in marriage. That is how the season is supposed to end.

I would love to see all the outrage on the next Bachelor. Why have 2 women get dressed to the nines when one who is expecting a proposal from some guy who probably fondled her all night is going to tell her "you ain't it?" Where is all of the outrage for 15 seasons of tears for the women F2s. They should get a message in a bottle the morning of telling them to go home. That way the day can be just about the happy couple.
