Re: Books - Discussion
@albean99 Thanks for the recommendation. Another good read on elephants is this one:
Elephant Company: The Inspiring Story of an Unlikely Hero and the Animals Who Helped Him Save Lives in World War II
https://www.amazon.com/Elephant-Company-Inspiring-Unlikely-Animals/dp/0812981650/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=book+on+elephants+in+World+War+2&qid=1592247626&sr=8-1
My aunt was fascinated by elephants and I gave her this book to read - she said she learned so much about them.

@albean99 What is the name of the mysteries set in the 1920's? I am always looking for new mysteries and I prefer the ones set in the earlier eras.

@Sprite, one is Rhys Bowen's Royal Spyness series and the other is Sara Rosett's High Society Lady Detective series. They’re pretty similar but I like them both. If you want a series even farther back, try Catherine Lloyd's Kurland St. Mary mysteries. I find they’re a good getaway from current events or my " heavier books that I read for book clubs.
Thanks, @"Norcalgal, I'll check it out when I’m ready for another elephant book.

Our local PBS just recently aired "Frankie Drake" mysteries. She's a private detective. It's set in 1920's Toronto. It was fun.

Thanks. @pavalygurl. I just subscribed to it although will be starting with episode 11. I really liked the Miss Fisher’s Mysteries when it was on Netflix and my husband and I watch Murdoch Mysteries which are set in Toronto in the 1890’s to 1900.

That is still running on CBC here in Ontario....along with the Murdock Mysteries.
