Please, the tabloids were making Roberto and Ali to be celeb wannbe's that love the media attention. I mean, they were sent out with them shopping with the paps following them to lunch.

The press was brutal at first. Ashley & JP's press sounds to be way better than Brad/Emily, Jason/Molly, etc. So, I don't get why people are upset.

I'd forgotten all about that but now that you mention, I do remember that too.

I'm sorry if my summaries were too much of a downer. I try to just say what they say without editorializing it too much unless there's an obvious red flag but it's always also with a grain of salt for all them. The coverage is definitely no way near as bad as a bunch of other B/ette couples and the worst stories are from the ones that are most transparently agenda driven and with the worst track record.

You definitely have the sharks in the water sniffing around especially in the first few weeks. Then the interest dies down unless there's a major event. The new Bachelor will start attracting press soon enough.

I'm really trying to analyze when she could have tipped Ben off. She could not have done it prior to their LCD, such as in private on their FD, and then expect him to convincingly "play along" through MTP and LCD. What if he refused once he knew he had no chance? So if she found a moment during LCD to whisper it to him without producers knowing (since they're not alone then), it could have worked, but again, he also might have reacted in noticeable shock (since he already thought he was in love with her), or misunderstood, or he might have spilled the beans to producers when then expected to still go pick out a ring and especially, when they discussed with him the probablility that he would propose at FRC.

I know it's easy for us to sit at home and think how easy it would be to clue someone in, but the reality of the situation they are in, and the consequences of it not playing out the way they expect it to, and then not knowing exactly what the wrath of the producers might amount to if found out during shooting, makes it all much more complicated than it appears at first glance IMO.

If she really wanted to send him home early she could have handled it probably 1000x better then she did.. and that's being nice. My stomach turned watching their LCD. This is where I give people like Brad and even Fake props (did I just say that? haha). Brad barely touched or kissed Chantal on their LCD and Jake pretty much told Tenley it just wasn't there. For whatever reason Ashley thought it was a good idea to lay down with Ben on his bed and attempt a steamy make out session with him. Even when he would pull away she would pull him back in and then threw her leg over top of him. This all being after he told her he was in love with her. Don't even get my started on the mud and why she felt the need to adjust her bikini top so she could put mud on the inside. I was cringing. She should have just sweetly kissed him and left. hissyfit

It's been great having you post all of this each week, and much appreciated. I agree with whoever said that the negativity is what sells. It's just disappointing that they feel the need to write this crap with no care about how much it ends up effecting peoples lives, but I guess that's the name of the game when it comes to the tabloids.

Well, I still feel that Ashley ramped up her physical affection towards Ben (and even then, I still didn't find that makeout session "steamy", although it may have been the first time she kissed him with her mouth open), as a direct result of her sister putting doubts in her head, the unresolved last conversation Ash had with JP, and then their forced separation of a couple of days until they could further discuss it. I suspect she decided to really try, since she was spending the next two days with only Ben, to see if she could feel any real romantic chemistry with him, or just "it", like she felt with JP. She just wanted to be sure I think, before totally dismissing her sister's concerns and following her heart. And clearly, as much of a chance as she gave it, it just wasn't there with Ben. Yes, the unintended result was that she led Ben on further, as he took her increased "passion" as confirmation she was in love with him. I doubt she realized this at the time though. YMMV, but that's the way I see it, and it's the only logical explanation for her actions, based on what we now know of how she was feeling.

Yes, I too want to give a thank you for the summaries so that people know what's out there! Sounds like the typical stuff...and that's why I guess I will never get why people buy those magazines. Then again, this show uses them to promote the show.

If Ashley could have let Ben go ahead of time, she would have. Ashley has shown herself to be very empathic and sincere in her pre and post interviews. We should remember what her track record with the other guys was-- Mickey, William (Ben C. based on William), Ryan, etc.. once she saw it wasn't working, she let them go. In one of their interviews (sorry, don't remember which one but it is in our A & JP Media thread) Ashley stated that she "just can't explain that..." Hello-- we know this show! Of all people who should be able to read between the lines, it is us!! Ashley's interactions with Ben were producer directed. It may not have been done blatantly in front of Ben but, I could see her handler pulling her aside and saying-- "come on Ash, pull him toward you and give him a good kiss. You know, if you swing that leg up over him, I'll bet will be able to wrap it for the night. Hang in there, I know you're tired and it's been a long day...." totally my speculation but, I can see it happening. Let's give Ashley the benefit of the doubt and support her and JP now that they are wanting to start their life!
