The deprivation and lack of interaction with family/friends creates the environment where the lead is going to trust the producers and depend on them. I'm sure they convinced her that she had to go along. They were holding a lot over her head at that point, as far as her contract, pay, next 3 months of media obligations to the show, not to mention controlling her ability to meet/speak with her chosen one. How much of a choice did she really have?
from everything we hear every season, it just sounds like they are all so broken down by the end. Sleep deprived, isolated, put through the emotional ringer... in prime position to be messed with. And the producers are ready and willing to take full advantage at that moment, to make "the most shocking finale ever!"
I remember RS specifically revealing that Frank wanted to leave much earlier. He seemed to have reservations almost right from the beginning. He wanted to go back to his girlfriend, but they made him stay until FD and also go through that farcical scene with his girlfriend supposedly agreeing to take him back. The producers must really think their viewers are stupid if they think we bought one minute of that incredibly awkward scene. I think that had a lot to do with Frank not showing up for the MTA.
They can exert a great deal of psychological and emotional pressure to get the lead to do what they want. I was encouraged to at least hear that Ashley wanted to let Ben go earlier. So she was thinking of him and how devastating this could be. I think TPTB were determined to get their two men down on one knee proposal, no matter what. I do agree with others that the worst part was seeing Ben leave in that ridiculous boat, going right past Ashley and off into God knows where!
I still think that Ashley wanted to send all of the rest home after HTD. That emotional crying PI scene was not about dumping Lucas.
IMO.
I agree.

well.............
Ashley wanted to sent ben home earlier but the producers said that what was needed was another man to propose. She said that she could not say more than that because she was still under contract
1. ashley spiney knew all along because RTVZone was TONIGHT live and if she knew this info it must be before the finale. I do not see ash texting ashley spiney to tell that now in the middle of the crazyness medias
2. ash never wanted to humiliate ben and the producers put her on this position
Some said that it is very possible that the producers played ben saying that ashley was falling etc .... and possibly told ashley that in order for ben to be next bachelore he needed to propose and be rejected
what you think? possible? .... heck yeah!
It makes me wonder because Ashley said in one of the interviews today that she thinks good things are in store for Ben. Also, that if he was the next Bachelor the girls would love him. :greenman:
I don't think Ashley had any control over making decisions about how things were going to go down at the FRC. First and foremost, to MF & Co. this is a show. Setting up for the possibility of the next lead is all TPTB are concerned about, not how the F2 will feel when they are rejected. Ali may have received special treatment in being allowed to let Chris go, but I think that is because she was the fave of the big kahuna. IMHO.

This may have been true, but I think someone commented that they knew Chris wasn't ready to propose and was not going to be manipulated to do so. I think this is why Chris got sent home early. If JP were F2 he would have sensed it as well. I doubt he could have been conned either, that's why Ashley keeps referring to him as her rock. He was well grounded even with the crap they threw at him.JMO

OMG.............I said the same thing somewhere:
I said that most of ashley's insecurities are coming from big sister and big sister wanted to steal the show with brad at the HTD and same with JP!!!!
Did not we heard that she is looking for a job in hollywood???? heard rumors on that..

Did you ever doubt J.P. would be the last guy standing at the end?
Harrison: I don't think Ben was ever out of the running. I think it was J.P. all along, he was the front-runner, but at the same time if there was anyone else with a chance it was Ben. She genuinely loved the guy, but what she and J.P. have is different.
J.P. certainly didn't have it easy when he met Ashley's family.
Harrison: Not to rip on Ashley's sister, I don't know if it was a way to grab attention, but it was very strange. You can't have that negative of a reaction to J.P., it's like hating a puppy. How do you hate a puppy? Maybe it was jealousy of Ashley's life, I don't know. There's much more underlying issues that goes beyond just not liking J.P. but she did have a mea culpa at the "After the Final Rose."
"Reality television frequently portrays a modified (...) day-to-day life, at times utilizing sensationalism to attract audience viewers and increase advertising revenue. Participants are often placed in exotic locations or abnormal situations, and are often persuaded to act in specific scripted ways by off-screen "story editors" or "segment television producers" with the portrayal of events and speech manipulated and contrived to create an illusion of reality through direction and post-production editing techniques." ~ Wikipedia |

I heard the reason why Ali was allowed to send Chris home was because she was not going to ruin her special day by having Roberto be the second guy to propose to her. She wanted to save that moment only for him. I agree that JP would have sensed it if he would have been the F2, just like Kiptyn knew with Jillian and did not propose, even though he had the ring.

Chris Harrison sure is strange with the wording. I mean, we know that Ashley's sister didn't really accept it until actually watching the show, but the show sure doesn't help by keeping their hug & such on the cutting room floor!
Perhaps the convinced Ashley that Ben wasn't going to propose anyway?

I can't wait to read the People article tomorrow and see the pictures! Hopefully they'll ask different questions than they've been asked all day today!

I really liked that Access Hollywood interview & how communication is key! I think we actually learned at least one thing new in each interview.
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

Really Bee? I didn't know that about Ali! That's why to me, her FRC will always be one of the best because that day was just about the two of them.
