Thanks JBF for the Final transcript. I think I figured out what part was added in after the first proposal. You can tell by the sun and I've entered my comments in red. Maybe the clouds were coming in and out, but... from the way you have it, it looks like Ashley did her talking AFTER he bends down with the ring... and that would not surprise me. Maybe she needed more than one "take" to get it right?

Actually, what I think happened is this...

Mike Fleiss not only supervised the editing of episode #3, but also flew down to Fiji to supervise the finale. Some of us thought there actually was a wedding! Life & Style back in June suggested that a lot of work went into getting the sunset location and shots just right. Fleiss was doing cartwheels over this match-up and wanted the finale to look perfect.

However, JP's proposal appears to have been nailed perfectly in one take... too early for the sunset. They didn't want to lose the spontaneity. Yet, they WANTED the sunset included... so maybe they just had Ashley repeat some of her lines a second time?

It was said that Ben right after the rejection, stopped and cried and needed a lot of comfort because he was 100% sure.

I am sad for him no matter if he should have been more cautious. I understand that he dropped his walls way to much and the producers took advantage of it. I really hope that he will refuse to be the next bachelor. I hope he will see clarity that it is not good. It is obvious that he is still hurt and a couple of month to rebound and find a fiance? sorry but NO WAY. This guy took 4 years to open up after the death of his father and it would take a couple of months to recover and propose?

Right now the producers are trying to push the fans to vote and bet him to do it with the hope that the pressure will be enough to accept. I hope not. He deserves better that to become another puppet.

But neither version of Bentley would really have stood a chance against JP anyway.

I think Bentley was more about a bruised ego and a blow to her confidence than anything else. Def don't think he would have lasted as there just doesn't seem to have been much too him. There doesn't seem to be much to his ex-wife and even she got rid of him. I think he would have lasted about as long as William did because, despite the roast, she was soon able to see that William is still a boy compared to JP and so is Bentley.

I did re-watch Ben's MTF portion and her LCD date with him. I guess I DO see why he thought it was him. There is absolutely nothing bad you can say about them together. They were just boring and had no fire between them. Did she really think that the passion would come with time? Seriously, unless she totally dominated him and gave him some lessons, I just cannot see where it would have gotten better anytime soon. Had JP not been there to give her the best kiss ever, I can see where Ben would have been a shoe in. They were very compatible and I think she really, really did like him. I just hope he's not really processing all of the after show talk by people like CH saying that it was always JP. It seems kinda soon for him to hear that. I'm guessing that, like JP, he wasn't trying to watch too much of the season with the other guys.

I'm almost kinda wondering if JP is still having problems w/worrying about the other guys. He still seems uncomfortable talking about it even though she chose him. It wasn't like she could have picked him after the first date or even Hong Kong and she had to keep exploring her options ... I can see where Ashley's sister might have thought she was 'too much' because of her outgoing personality. But, I can say that she would be 'too much' for Ben given her need for affection and her overt sexuality. I think both guys might would have had to step up their games in one way or another. JP is going to have to be ready for her to have a lot of friends, be well liked by his friends and, maybe, overshadow him a bit at times ...

I also question her compatability with Ben in that area, and can't picture him coping with Ashley climbing all over him in their post show appearances, if she had picked him. I think Ben by nature is not only laid back, but somewhat reserved when it comes to physical affection, which is why he was not alarmed at all, and didn't see it as a red flag that Ashley wasn't initiating makeout sessions with him, let alone he wasn't initiating them himself, considering he was falling in love with her. He was satisfied with their relatively tepid kissing, hand holding and hugs, and assumed she was too; if he ever does watch her very different actions with JP on the show, his eyes will probably pop out. He's just too passive physically for her IMO.

I still feel bad for Ben. Even if he hadn't proposed, I agree with CH that he has still picked a ring and had still planned to because he was 100% sure. Looking back, I see why he thought he was even though I wish he'd been a bit more worried. JP doesn't seem to have a lot of sympathy for him either and it's not quite as simple as both of them knowing that one of them was going to be heartbroken ... not any more simple than JP being able to handle Ashley dating/kissing the other guys once he'd totally fallen for her. I'd like to see a little more compassion from him for Ben (unless there is something we missed about Ben's reaction) as it is a hard process. Feelings are involved and they do get hurt. As fake as the show can be in parts, the feelings are real - at least in the moment and for some time to come. I didn't feel a lot of anger coming from Ben at the ATRF but I sensed that he was still hurt and that he still had some feelings for Ashley. Fairy Tales definitely aren't simple - especially when there is more than one prince.

JP has said several times in interviews that if Ben felt for Ashley even a fraction of what he (JP) did, then he must have been devastated and he feels badly for him. I just think that JP has to be careful with what he says -- how much sympathy does he show towards Ben without making it seem like he blames Ashley for Ben's pain? That must be very tricky for him.

Just curious, what has JP said (or not said) that showed a lack of compassion or sympathy? I heard him comment in some interviews on how bad he felt for Ben, but that of course it was going to end badly for one of them, which I think is a fair statement of fact. Maybe I missed something else? Were there other comments in the People article that you're referring to?

I believe that all 3 had real feelings and unfortunately ben did not see as you said any red flags

Dealing with the fact that ben was maybe still is in love with the woman you love... dealing to watch her getting cozy and kissing is not easy. something I noticed about what jp said and he repeated it several time

It is obvious that they both discussed about what really happened during the episode and what the edits made us believe: SHOW MISUNDERSTANDINGS

kisses not the same: that is reinsurance form ashley to him to point him that she never opened her mouth, it was peeks, nothing passionate, not given with love... affection maybe but not love
