IMO in many cases they play along because they've been led by a producer to believe they have a shot at being the next lead, which my be true in some cases but a lie in most cases.

So IMO yes - a woman can ask a man to promise he loves her and not mean it at all - we all saw it happen - it's just part of being the lead. Like many before and many after (for however long the show lasts) leads will lead others on even if they don't have a chance. IMO those who saw Kaitlyn checked out with Nick were seeing the same thing I saw - she was checked out and there were many symptoms of that to be seen during the MTP date with Nick's family.

This is a game and it sucks - but I blame the game more than I blame the players in it.

Leads have been misleading their F2's for seasons now.  Remember Andy telling Bevin he loved her at LCD.  Another lead  (cant  remember who) saying tomorrow would be a very good day.  Meredith talking about spending Christmas with Matt's family. Andi telling Nick not to worry and asking about what a day in Chicago would be like.  The list goes on.   It's an icky game for sure.

This very well might be true that Kaitlyn was just acting with Nick, but I think that it should make her feel bad that she led him on as he clearly was not acting.  It was not a TV show for him.  It was an extension of real life for him.  He told her, "You are not the bachelorette to me.  To me, you are just Kaitlyn."

I still think Whitney was back up plan B.  Had Britt not challenged him, Jade not had the naked pics or Becca been more willing to play along and give him more reassurances...I think he'd have chosen one of them in a heart beat to date and string along.  By no means do I think he'd have lasted or had intentions of marrying any of them either.  Did he like Whitney?  Yes.  But she was the perfect on paper for him, what his family wanted for him and closest to him geographically.  That only made it easier for him to play act and dump her later.  I feel bad for any of the girls on his season for having to deal with the fame loving idiot.  

As for the second bolded... they all choose to willingly go on this show, sometimes more than once.  Yes, i think this is the game and it sucks, but the person is to blame some.  Yes, the situation is bad because of the seclusion, drinking, manipulation, etc.  But as many others from the series have said, they can only use what you give them.  Many have not fallen prey or given into it all and stood their ground...leads and supporting cast.  So they should all be held somewhat accountable for their actions and not just given a pass because they chose to play the game.  JMHO though...

It was always Britt and Jade's to lose. I don't even Becca had any chance until thise two lost the game. Ah, that one fooled me too, i thought he was sincerely looking for mom for what's the name of the pig again?

From his perception of producing the Bachelor/Ette for many years he felt that Kaitlyn was definitely more in tune with Nick.  When asked who he thought she would choose at the end, he chose Nick even with knowing all the spoilers.  His analysis of the family visits and each of the cast was quite fascinating.  To me it seems very obvious that Kaitlyn chose Shawn because of snapchat, sm etc etc etc but it gave me pause for thought listening to someone who knows all the secrets.  Regardless of the ending there is no doubt that Kaitlyn had strong feelings for both guys.  I think the real problem is that Kaitlyn is like a kid in the candy store and she really is struggling with which candy do I want to eat "for the rest of my life."  Anyway the the rejection goes down it is going to be brutal and very hurtful for the rejectee.  Regardless that they all signed up for this, people are people, emotions are emotions and I am sure that for these 3 people it all felt very real in the moment.  Even though I have a bias toward one over the other and I am not impressed with Kaitlyns behavior post show.....  I wish them all well.  As always....JMO
