I think it's been fairly obvious since pre-season that Ben H was being considered for TB and I think that deal was sealed after this weekend and substantiated by last nights tweets. JMO

Con't have time to read through this long thread but where was Shawn's mother in last night's episode?

Shawn's mother was not featured in last night's episode.

I know he's had a sorted relationship with her since the cheating/divorce.
This coupled with his major car accident say a lot about Shawn.
A part of him may never trust Kaitlyn, but perhaps that's what he expects from most females in his life. Kaitlyn's strong personality could actually fill the void of a maternal figure in his life. It wouldn't be the first time a man goes after someone like mom.

I totally agree that Ben has been a contender for the lead but am surprised that if it was a done deal for Ben to be the next Bachelor that they did not have him be on GMA in person.  Since it was a taped recap with a very brief outtake of Ben commenting it struck me as odd.  It will be interesting to see what the next couple weeks bring. I think TPTB are still mulling the final choice over. JMO.

If Shawn's issues are associated with his mother, he needs to learn not paint everyone with the same brush.

Did I hear him say his mother was there? but they didn't show her?

I did not see the periscope but I think she does say it in relation to Shawn, it just makes it look like she says it to Nick IMO

Shawn said his mom couldn't make it, but from sm she can't ever make it to anything. It seems like there's no relationship at all, just looking at the sm.

I understand Shawn's clinginess with Kait after his freak out to the producer about his parents' divorce. Kait is so sweet and maternal so maybe she'll help him heal and open up, which is what he's been saying so far. So we'll see. I'm optimistic because Kait seems optimistic and happy

Did she seem happy on SM yesterday after the show. I know she has not tweeted much yet although Shawn did mostly about his golfing black box but I was wonder if she did a periscope or snap yet.
