I'm sure he KNEW that Kaitlyn was probably going to have sex with Shawn, but that doesn't mean he needs to hear it. It's basically what Andi said to JP in their confrontation.

I love Chris and I really liked the creepy pat to Kait's lower back too. Kait will have to fight Andi for that particular booboo.
