Ben Higgins - Bachelorette 11 - *Spoilers - Sleuthing* - Discussion #2

Ten ley can't pull a Nick because Nick and Kaitlyn never met. At this point she has hung out with Ben H on several occasions. And it will still be another two months before Ben starts filming the Bachelor if he indeed does decide to do it. That's a lot of time to decide whether something is worth pursuing

E! hasn't reported anything "exclusive". Everything said has been said here. Some insta pics and speculation.

I dont understand this. Shawn and Kaitlyn "plugged" Ben because they were asked who they thought she be the next Bachelor. It's not like they just randomly brought it up. And even when Shawn was mentioning Ben it was in reference to them being best friends. Soo..

On ATFR they both brought up Ben H when he had nothing to do with Nick and Kaitlyn's relationship and wasn't even mentioned by CH. Both K and S brought his name into the mix and Ben H's own words on MTA refuted anything Kaitlyn said about her connection being the same as with Nick (Ben said it was obvious it was Shawn and Nick) which is why Shawn and K brought his name up (both using Ben to compare Nick to, imo based on their words... with Shawn it matters not, with Kaitlyn it was a lie if Ben H was telling the truth on MTA).

Then after that, on JKL Jimmy asked Shawn who Kaitlyn should pick for F1 if not himself and Shawn said Ryan M (the drunk guy) and then said, no Ben H for bachelor, and Kaitlyn raised her hands and said "campaigning hard".

It's not the be and end all, just likely that they are continuing to campaign for their friend and I think this started a long time before even FRC, imo... somewhere in those 6-7 hours three of them shared. JMO

E! is reporting it too, so it does seem like more than speculation. Having said that, just because they are hanging out (I think that's what the kids call it these days) doesn't mean he's not going to be the Bachelor. Sean made out with Jenna, Ben hooked up with JLH, and Kaitlyn made out with Zach - all only a few weeks or months before going off to filming. We have no reason to believe it's more than a casual hook-up, but we also don't really have a reason to believe that it can't be a real thing.

All E! "source" said, is that they're hanging out. That's it. And let's be honest, anyone with eyeballs could see that. They didn't confirm anything that wasn't obvious. So that article said absolutely nothing new. And you're right, we have no reason to believe anything, considering we only know 1)Tenley basically loves him 2) They've hung out a few times. That's literally the extent to our info on the matter. That's not much to work with IMO.

Not really. The contract is supposed to be signed within mid August I believe. So, there's not all that much time.

Again, when Shawn brought up Ben it was to specifically show that he had no problems with jealousy considering his best friend in the house had an "amazing connection" with Kaityln. That was his whole point of his comment. When he said Ben for Bachelor, it's because people started to appause when he mentioned Ben H. And when Kaitlyn brought up Ben, she was saying that she at times felt the "inlove feeling" with him. Ben was F3, which means thats the most logical position (other than F1/2) to feel "inlove", so that's a no brainer. Plus, her whole point of that comment was to explain to Nick that there were points she felt "inlove" (with not just him.) Most of the previous leads have said/implied the same ex at thing, and blame it on the "process". So what Ben said at MTA didn't really have anything to do with what Kaitlyn said at ATFR, considering they weren't even speaking about the same thing. On Jimmy Kimmel, Shawn saying that he would pick Ben for Kaitlyn, is yet again, no surprise considering they have both said they're best friends, and Shawn AND Kaitlyn both have said that Ben is a great guy. And obviously since Ben didnt end up with Kaitlyn, he was trying to get him for the second best option (in his eyes) (Kaitlyn wouldnt be my first option .) So like others have said, I think it's just a case of them both loving Ben and thinking he's great. And people have even said that Ben doesnt even seem to want the role as the Bach, so that blows ulterior motives out of the water, if true. I just dont see how we can say one way or another about any of this. It's speculation. Not fact. Since when do "normals" like us get behind the scenes action? Or better yet.. spidey abilities? We dont.

Technically, Tenley would pull a Kacie B and probably with a similar outcome. I have no problem with her pursuing whoever she wants, but since she can you know, text, call, FT, whatever, then why put it on SM for the rest of the world to see? It is like she tries to force these guys to want her and that is pathetic to me. If a girl IRL pursued a guy she knew IRL this hard on SM, most would call her creepy.

As for gentle Ben. Of course Shawn had no jealousy toward Ben, was a terrific little puppy and happily sat and watched Shawn cuddle Kaitlyn for 6 or 7 hours. Sorry Shawn, you thought of Ben as your bestie, not as a guy dating Kaitlyn. JMO.

And Kaitlyn's recommendation is probably the only reason I don't want Ben for bachelor, since I don't share her taste in most men. Now if Ben had made her feel a little uncomfortable about herself, sure, but he was that cute little puppy who was happy to watch her cuddle Shawn. Yuck.

Ben H, I really like you, don't care that you are 26, but being bestiies with KaitBoo lowers my opinion of you. If you are anything like the guy the last self centered bachelorette recommended for the bachelor then I say, no thanks!

*scratches head* I'm sorry but why is Ben basically being put down for being friends with Shawn? Jared and Ben Z also speak highly of him but Ben and Cupcake are guilty by association, "wingmen", basically pushovers to the almighty Shawn? Once again, Shawn gets too much credit. It doesn't matter what Ben or any other guy this season could have done, Kaitlyn would've still chosen Shawn. That doesn't mean the other guys let him *win*. This was her decision and frankly, if she was worth fighting for maybe these guys would've gotten more competitive and the prospects of being on BIP or next bachelor wouldn't have been so enticing. It just blows my mind that Ben and Shawn's friendship (something that were not privy too) has resulted to Ben being his lapdop. Ben is a guy with a lot of friends. If he considers Shawn one  of his "best friends" it is because there is something good between them than was bigger than who would be Kaitlyn's future ex-fiance.

And I guess I should add JMO.

I completely agree. It's like Sharleen (who everyone loves) being friends with the "Mean Girls" ( who everyone dislikes.)

?? This sounds like fic Anyway, none of this is anything that anyone involved has said. And there's no reason to believe that any of this is true. Why cant Ben be friends with Shawn? And why to everything else you said..?

I think Ben would be a good candidate. I like him. To me it has little or nothing to do with anyone else he is or is not friends with.

So in real life, haven't we all friends that can choose not to be buddies with other friends we have. IMO Ben, Cupcake or Jared have done nothing wrong by being associated with Shawn or Nick for that matter. I am yet to see a single confirmation that any of these guys have said anything negative about Nick so they are class act all the way IMO.
