People can do whatever the heck they want in the privacy of their own homes, but when they put it all out there for everyone to witness then I feel I have every right to judge and criticize. These two are portraying themselves as two college kids on spring break rather than two responsible adults. It says a lot about their intellect, unfortunately.

You mean they are bordering on going the pornography way with their actions? Thank god dont have sm to deal with dont need it to see it.

Just catching up on the past few pages.

Honestly the whole social media over sharing just seems to be blown out of proportion IMO. Maybe i'm of this mindset because I'm one the new age kids mentioned here sometimes, so I'm just really desensitized to it. I've taken to not sharing overly personal things about myself via SM because that's just not my personality type but I also have a lot of friends and family members who are the exact opposite and share so much on their pages. I don't judge them for it, I don't think I'm morally superior to them because of it, I really just see it and it's nothing to me.

I doubt Kaitlyn and Shawn are looking to settle down into a regular 9-5 job anytime soon so I don't think it'll affect any job opportunities, and unless they do/say anything super outrageous/offensive, by the time they're ready to settle down this'll all have blown over IMO

I think I saw someone say a few pages back that they think the person who's the lead should be a good role model. Maybe that's where the fundamental differences come in because I don't see any of these people as role models or someone to look up IMO. There are some contestants I like better than others out of just personal preference but I don't think anyone should watch this show looking for a role model.

It is not the oversharing that is the main issue, it is the content of what is being shared.

These two were engaged and based on this show, those who worked out in the long run had some dates planned and were settled down already.

Talking about just wanting coffee and then being on SM more than not doesn't seem like any plans for settling down. Nothing wrong with that. But from the content of what is shared, these two do not look like 30 year olds about to walk down the aisle, more like 15 year old wannabe party people.

This may be the case but I find it really interesting that no other lead who has demonstrated the behavior Kaitlyn has... being praised or defended in the past. I would think most do look at the lead as someone who should take the role seriously and thus post-show behavior of being engaged is a way to determine if that role is a serious thing or not.

When I see comments like you're so beautiful, I wish I looked like you, I cry when I see you, please give me a shout out I would die if you did, sort of comments, IMO these are young ladies who are looking up to her. As we know, often times, they mimmick those who they idolize.

I have no problem that they are happy and in love. Everyone deserves it. I just think they are very immature in their behaviour and what they are sharing on SM.

And that's where I get judge-y and mean in my head. I detest those comments, they bug the sh*t out of me, every time I see them, on whatever platform, on whoever's pages I cringe and in my head I yell "WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS?!" and "WHY WON'T YOU LOVE YOURSELVES?!" Logically I know parents can only do so much but those comments are ugh

Kaitlyn and Shawn are different individuals and a different couple than anyone previously, therefore I don't think the bar for them as a couple and how they should act should be based on those before them. As for them not looking like two 30 year olds about to get married, I don't think there's a set look nor should there be. I don't know if they'll last, and the odds are certainly against them but a big part of marriage is wanting the same things out of life. So you or me could think oh they should settle down, get stable jobs etc, there are people who do that and are happy and those who don't and are equally as happy. If they're both on the same page and they want to get married and party and drink and travel they could, and still have a happy marriage. They've just got to find what works best for them as a couple and do that. Just my take.
