Fair enough, I respect your opinion. I personally think that the edit and the leaks to the media are TPTB punishing her for not doing her job. I also think the not fixing the blogs is throwing her under the bus even more. JMO. I have been wrong in the past and will be wrong again, so I could be very wrong on this too.

Imho, Kaitlyn has her rose colored glasses on with Shawn and her head in the sand with Nick. Either way, she isn't seeing clearly.

Personally I think the same can be for fans of both sides . We all see what we want to see in the end it's Kait's life and decision. She made many mistakes with how she handled things. Alternatively, the guys both made mistakes too. At the end of the day, they all have to live with them. They all seem happy now so hopefully they remain so following ATFR ( fingers crossed)

IMO Kaitlyn's glasses have a vastly clearer image of reality than we can ever hope to have. We see some pixels on an LCD screen that represent a few minutes out of hours of footage, and those minutes are chosen by editors who seek to fit them into a story line written by some producer whose intent is only to make dramatic TV, not an accurate documentary.

Kaitlyn didn't see the story as pixels on a monitor - she saw flesh and blood people in real life 3-D. She lived the story and was there for all of the hours that we didn't see; she saw the story that happened as it happened, not the one the tailored to fit a story line. She didn't just see a documentary - she lived it. I can't pretend to think I know more than she does.

I think I'm one of very few who doesn't think Kaitlyn made mistakes. She maybe didn't do what was right for tptb and the format of the show and didn't do things in the normal order other leads have, but she did it her way and what worked best for her and her journey.
It all ultimately helped her get to where she is today. And by all appearances, that is a good and happy place for her at the moment.

I still don't understand why people give her knocks for living in the moment. If you're a creative type person, this is what is needed to harvest it. I actually think this personality trait helped her make her decision. Maybe she didn't over-analyze (like I and many on this board do) and just followed her heart. If more people were like this, maybe they'd make better decisions for themselves (and not make decisions based on what others might think or what the future might hold) Many Psychology PHD's have written books on this topic.

I never had a problem with Kaitlyn living in the moment b/c she used to own it. On this season, after having sex with Nick, she spent the rest of the reason living in guilt, worrying if someone would find out, and yelling at Nick to make sure he wouldn't tell. If the sexes were reversed, she would have gotten so much heat for that last bit. And, same with telling Shawn he was the one - yelling at him for needing reassurance after that, feeling guilty for saying it, and basically taking it back. If she owned both things, I would have LOVED it, but she didn't and that's the problem with people like that.

Funny, I have been a TA to some artists, they like the rest of us have deadlines and still have to get things done.  They also often need the deadline or ability to focus on something else to put the idea to paper. So nope living in the moment as Kaitlyn does doesn't mean creative to me.  It means selfish and self-centered.  JMO. But, I am happy to admit that I am just completely sick of the excuses for Kaitlyn. As CP noted, she ruined this season with her lack of thinking and then moaning and stressing over it for the a good part of the rest of the season.

Honestly, I gave up the MTV series when they just started casting drama queens and self absorbed people. To many more Andis Chris Soules and Kaitlyns and TPTB will help me give up this show too. Maybe I should be greatful for that.

IMO Kaitlyn made mistakes as the show would see it because of how the show "works"; they do not want the lead becoming fixated on one person so the lead can be more believable with all the others - but that's so unlike the real world it isn't even comparable. But in a real life situation if a woman really likes a guy she would make sure to let him know that and I think all Kaitlyn was doing was trying to make sure Shawn stayed around so she could pick him at the end. Though that created some bumps in the road those were not "real life" bumps - they were bumps only because the show isn't real life and runs under a different set of rules than real life.

IMO the edit is right on track. We saw all just exhausting amount of drama and last episode we finally got to see the sun shining through for Shawn and Kaitlyn while Nick and his family already started to get teary eyed.

And, I just have to pipe in about all this blog talk. I am a seasoned freelance writer and one of the main things that I do on a weekly basis is write executive communications (speeches, memos, blogs, quotes, etc) for a multi billion dollar company's senior leadership/spokespeople. The process that I follow is 1) obtain the messaging platform from company's PR/communications team that they want me to communicate; 2) interview the executive to hear what he/she wants to communicate; 3) write the message/blog in the "voice" of the executive and get in as much content as I can following the word count guidelines; 4) turn in my draft to BOTH the executive and company's PR/communications team for their edit/comment/approvals; 5) go back and forth on edits; and 6) provide final draft to the company's PR/corporate communications team for their final sign off and to submit to the publication. I've done this for many, many companies over the past 25 years and it's always the same process.

I have a very, very, very hard time believing that ABC/Fleiss production would have a dance instructor and a personal trainer dictate every word that goes into the official Bachelorette People blog that is seen by a huge audience and represents their show, which has been on air for how many seasons now?? Bachelor/Bachelorette leads come and go. ABC should not and I just can't believe would give that much control to someone who is going to be replaced in a couple of weeks. Most companies of the size/prominence of ABC would also be vetting and/or developing their spokesperson's Social Media activity too.

So maybe, maybe Shawn is "controlling" Kaitlyn in their off-screen relationship. I don't know ... I don't hang out with them on a regular basis and instead am watching just an outrageously produced "reality" TV show right now. IMO, the Shawn that I am seeing onscreen seems to be more controlled by Kaitlyn and TPTB.

But if Shawn is that powerful that he can control ABC in telling them what to write in the official Bachelorette blogs for People Magazine, kudos to him. He's a lot smarter than I am giving him credit for being.

True, but Kaitlyn signed up to do this show. I know I have disliked Andi and Chris Soules for playing by the rules, and was told by many who now defend Kaitlyn that it was right and what the lead is supposed to do. But now it is great that Kaitlyn broke so many. I just don't get it.

Many were even mad at Nick for the plane video because he broke the rules.

Why is it so great that Kaitlyn broke the rules. She and Shawn both signed up for this show and to date in this crazy stupid way, but they both seemed unable to handle it. They maybe be great IRL, but in the context of the show they were both a bit of a disaster IMO. And I don't feel sorry for them because they did sign up for the show and Kaitlyn had done it before and was very well paid.

Obviously Kaitlyn wasn't that fixated on Shawn since it wasn't enough to stop her from having sex with two other men weeks before she got engaged to Shawn. That would NEVER be acceptable in real life, so it seems unfair to use the show's premise and rules to justify some of your actions but then blame it for being unrealistic when you don't want to follow ALL of its rules.

I do think Kait handled things poorly but I also think she did the best she could in the circumstances. Also, imo, she got really afraid and almost pissed off at Shawn saying he can't do it, which also helped to almost derail their relationship. Anyway, she seems to have figured it out so I think she did something right, and like she said, she will never look back and think "what if?!?" now.

One more thing- I do think Shawn is holding himself back on sm because he tweeted a snarky response to someone who called Kait immature and then immediately deleted it. He probably tries not to engage the negative sm and just focus on supporting her offline, which seems to be working well for her as she claims to feel loved and supported irl. I can't wait to hear him talk openly about everything next week though.
