gosh -- all these posts of his are just way too aligned with K for him to not be on great terms with her at least on a friendship level if not more.
i can't imagine a scenario where he's holding a candle waiting cos they were in touch prior to this show and can clarify their relationship status and confusions easily without having to wait and without him having to keep chasing/holding a candle. can't imagine the outspoken and upfront K also playing games with him in any way to "keep him hooked"

IMHO, Nick is back at work, he used his vacation days, so now he has a career to think about, if we'll see him travel it most probably be for work (apart for the live-taping).
Kaitlyn on the other hand could be moving without our knowledge, but considering her constant snap-chatting, she wasn't anywhere near Chicago in all this time.
So it's fair to conclude that not everything revolves around Kaitlyn in Nick's world.

No she can't be forced. We all have the ability to refuse to do something and stand on our principles at all costs - as long as we are willing to pay the whatever those costs might be. What if instead of being manipulated she was threatened that she would never find work in the industry unless she did what they asked? What if she was threatened that her edit would portray her as a sl*t and ruin her reputation and she would be the laughing stock of anyone who ever watched the show? What if they threatened to deface her favorite teddy bear with non-washable crayons? OK - tongue in cheek on that last threat but hopefully you get the idea here. If anyone thinks they would not stoop this low - I could cite a situation where they have. I won't - I just could.
