So for my own sanity, I have decided to put together a list of reasons why I think Nick is Kaitlyn’s F1.  I keep flip-flopping back and forth and need a reminder of my own thoughts, so bear with me, this is insanely long:

1.) Nick and Kaitlyn compliment each other, meaning they fit well together.  

Kaitlyn is a passionate, confident woman who does not make excuses for herself but embraces adversity with sassy charm.  She has intuition and a goofy, silly sense of humor.  Things Nick desires.  

Nick is a bold, sincere man who fights for the things that matter in life whatever the cost.  He is witty, intelligent and has a sarcastic sense of humor that borders on “salty” at times.  Things Kaitlyn desires.  

They share and live out similar views…

That life is better to be lived audaciously, guided by the passionate heart and sincere soul.  

That certain things in life are worth risking everything for.

That sacrifice can be the most incredible tool to express love and commitment.

That you can only achieve happiness in life by fully embracing who you are… “Be You”.

That relationship is best developed with unwavering trust, open communication and candid but “brutal truth”.  

I think many of us would like to say we agree with these principles, but I see Nick and Kaitlyn actually living them out and in the public eye no less.  Actions speak louder than words.  

2.) Nick and Kaitlyn like each other.  This sounds silly to say, but it is a defining and necessary component of a lasting relationship.  They like the person they see before them.  There is an instant “connection” or attraction between them, which was present before they ever met in person and led to their conversations and friendship prior to the show.  This goes beyond purely physical attraction.  They have an appreciation for each other and want to spend time together.  This is why they each missed one another when Kaitlyn went on the show.  

3.) Nick and Kaitlyn have “chemistry”.  Yes, I am referring to sexual chemistry.  There is no denying that they have eyes for each other from minute one.  Kaitlyn’s face when she first sees Nick is incredible.  She is giggling like a nervous, excited schoolgirl.  And Nick…well, his body language after the rap date screams, “Wow, she is gorgeous.  Am I staring? Pull it together Viall…Calm down…But those lips…” Nick seriously undersells their first kiss, “It wasn’t terrible.”  It was sizzling and passionate, but soft and intimate at the same time.  It was the stuff that romance movies are made of… Nuff said on that.  The footage speaks for itself.

4.) Nick and Kaitlyn “risked it all” for each other.  Nick flew halfway across the country, put his life “on hold” and put himself in the middle of a hornet’s nest of angry guys to show Kaitlyn that he was serious about fighting for her.  And Kaitlyn answered back with her own willingness to disrupt her “journey to find love” with the other guys, possibly giving up what she already had to see what might be with Nick.   It speaks volumes that Kaitlyn asked Nick to stay.  She saw a future with him.  More so than with all the other guys, or she would not have asked him to stay.  She would have thanked him, told him she was flattered but that she needed to see it through with the other guys.  The point is, she did not do what most other contestants do because she saw a future with Nick.  As she told Ashley, “It already seems serious.”

5.)  Kaitlyn gives not so subtle hints that Nick is here to stay.  She gives Justin the group date rose after he stands up for Kaitlyn and her right to “follow her heart” and give Nick a chance.  Then the following week, she gives Nick the group date rose on his first week.  This is huge!  Forget the FIR target…she basically stamps, “This is the guy to beat!” on his forehead for all the guys to see.  Not only will he be staying another week, but some of the guys that have been there for five weeks trying to get her attention will be going home in his place.  That had to go down like a “thorny rose”.  To top it all off, during their first week overseas in Ireland Nick is given the first 1:1 date.  I bet the guys still waiting to spend more than an hour of time with Kaitlyn were pissed.  

6.) This brings me to the “sex guy” conversation.  If RS is correct and it is Nick, then CH is right and the “game is over”.  Kaitlyn again risks her relationships with the other guys to spend the night with Nick.  She just can’t help herself, “like a moth to the flame”.  I simply can not see her being intimate with Nick prior to the FS and then again in the FS without her planning on ending up with him in the end. The information that she has slept with Nick twice would be so damaging to any other relationships that she might have, I just cannot see it working with any other guy.  In my opinion, the lack of trust would spoil the other relationship(s).

If RS is wrong and “sex guy” is not Nick, this presents a much more interesting turn of events.  I can see Nick being upset, frustrated and even angry.  Most importantly he would be questioning of the validity of his relationship with Kaitlyn.  However, this is the part at which I believe Nick’s tenacity and determination would pay off.  He came on the show to find out if he and Kaitlyn have a future together.  At this point in the game, an answer to his question is still illusive and I cannot see him easily giving up.  He might make the decision to overlook or rather to look past the “sex gate” issue and concentrate on his relationship with Kaitlyn.   I can see him putting his feelings aside to allow Kaitlyn to work through the process.  

This would be the definition of true love… self-sacrifice, giving up what he really wants to allow Kaitlyn to figure out what she truly needs.  This would be a true love story to me.  A refreshing love story.  A real love story.  Nick has said that real love takes work.  He wants a relationship that requires a daily choice to love the other person.  The feelings fade in every relationship, it is the decision to give up your own needs/wants for the other person that constitutes a lasting love relationship.  I would love to see him put his money where his mouth is.  

7.) “Sex gate” appears to be a big deal in the preview.  Contrastingly, their FS date appears “business as usual”.  They meet in Kennedy Park with a sweeping kiss and (likely) continue to the Blarney stone later in the day.  (Interestingly enough, the Blarney stone is supposed to bless those who kiss it with the “gift of gab” or eloquence of speech/flattery.  Both Nick and Kaitlyn seem to enjoy the art of word smith-ery…if that’s a word.)  

It could be that all the “sex gate” stuff goes down after the FS dates, but even if that is the case Nick and Kaitlyn look pretty cozy on their LCD as well.  The SC during the preview of them in a close embrace (Kaitlyn wearing a white, lacy dress and Nick wearing a ring on his right ring finger) occurs late in the season and leads me to believe that the whole “sex gate” controversy is blown way out of proportion.  Or perhaps Nick and Kaitlyn weather it well…I guess we will see how it all plays out soon enough.

8.) The ring… I feel like I have stared at that picture of Nick wearing the silver ring (seen in the mirror) for so long I could probably also see myself in the photo…now that would be convenient.  The point is that in the SC of what is likely their LCD (or around that time in the season), Nick is wearing a silver ring on his right ring finger.  Another poster sleuthed that Nick has done this twice before when in serious, long-term relationships, likely as a sign of his being “taken” or in a committed relationship.  As a sentimental guy, I could see him wearing this as a symbol to Kaitlyn that he is “all in”.  I suppose this jives with the RS spoiler that he does indeed propose to her at the FRC.  If she turns him down, I have a hard time believing that he would continue to wear it after he returns home.  The question then remains… Is it really a ring on his finger in that photo? In my opinion, there is something distorting his 4th finger.  If not a ring, what else would do that? Not a slam dunk, but curious for sure.

9.) At this point, I start to consider the RS spoilers… which are the only real wrenches in my plans for Nick and Kaitlyn to run off and live happily ever after.  Without RS spoilers, I really have no good reason to suspect that Nick and Kaitlyn end up anywhere but together.  Which is what makes the spoilers suspect to me.  So of course, my mind works overtime to come up with a way to discredit them completely.  One either has to buy what RS is selling or find a way to work around it.  My work around includes the “elusive foiler season theory”.

It goes something like this:

If I were Nick, the most important take away from this season would be Kaitlyn.  And if I were successful in winning fair maiden’s heart, I would turn my attention to taking down the “smug one”.  I might even involve the love of my life because we all know she loves a good prank.  I would work overtime to help producers create a believable foiler to feed RS, making sure it is tasty so that he swallows it hook, line and sinker.  “Nick Viall repeats history losing the girl at the finish line” would make an excellent headliner and it would be very tasty to RS indeed.

Now that would be a fully satisfying explanation for Nick’s day after the FRC tweet, “I’m all out of bubblegum…”  It was time to kick some azz…and if true, they surely did.  

10.) With the RS spoiler “dealt with”, the only thing left to sleuth is the onslaught of never ending SM clues….this could be a novel all it’s own.  

Taking a look as a whole at Kaitlyn’s SM postings, she appears happy and confident in her final choice.  She has the party line down… “it ended the way it should”.  Her posts have included everything from sassy responses to less than nice “fans” (cue Adam Sandler, “Haaaaaaa, Shut Up!”) to cutsie lines about some of the guys and happy photos of behind the scene dates.  She favorites quotes about her finding true and lasting love while also sending the message that she is going to be herself no matter what people say.  Sometimes funny.  Sometimes snarky.  Sometimes happy.  Sometimes more serious.  She retweeted the “article” by Ariana Grande that Nick posted just a few hours previously about feminism, sex and the culture’s hypocrisy.  Overall, she seems to do a great job of remaining neutral regarding the guys, including Nick.  She is not going to give away the ending with her posts that is for sure.  

Taking a look at the guys SM postings, they appear to have acclimated back to real life wonderfully well.  They are humorous, light-hearted and friendly to each other.  Many of the posts on IG between Ben H., Shawn and Cupcake are hilarious.  Most of the guys actually follow Kaitlyn either on IG or twitter and some on both so that doesn’t tell you anything.  Kaitlyn is only following Brady (since she stopped following Nick last week), so again this is of no help.  If you look at the F2 in particular:

Shawn: He remains somewhat “quiet” on SM.  Maybe that is due to his new-found “fame” and the huge number of new followers.  He may not feel comfortable posting things without fully understanding how people will respond.  (Many other contestants have taken this conservative approach as well.) He remains neutral on SM with regards to his feelings about Kaitlyn and Nick (although he does not follow either of them).  He strikes me as being on everyone’s team…or no one’s team…depends on how you look at it.  I think Shawn will be the next Bachelor, so he is setting himself up for success on SM by being neutral and not alienating any current groups of viewers.

Nick: He remains consistently active on SM.  Likely, because he is comfortable having “been there, done that”.  I also think that he uses SM as an outlet to deal with the fact that he cannot come out and say anything very specific about his thoughts or feelings regarding the season…yet.   There is one exception to this…

And that is his support and admiration for the ideals that Kaitlyn embodies.  Namely, a strong, confident woman who knows what she wants and stands up for it unwaveringly in the face of controversy.

* “No matter your fears, follow the path that makes your mind race with wonder, your chest burst with excitement, and your heart skip a beat.”

Overall SM is usually a bust when it comes to deciphering the ending.  But, I will say one thing is very clear.  Nick is supportive of Kaitlyn no matter what she chose.  I know that Nick is a great guy and would likely have supported her no matter what happened between them.  But, I think he is supporting her like no other guy has this season.  With words and actions.  That is what tells me Nick is Kaitlyn’s guy in the end.

They started their relationship before the show with a solid base of trust, communication and friendship. She said in her blog earlier today, “He became my go-to person for advice.” I think that is still true today.  He is her go-to guy.  Her rock.  Her supportive boyfriend…fiancé…(dare I even say it) lover.  

RS may be right, that Kaitlyn chose herself and sent Nick home alone after proposing marriage to her.  But I chose to believe that the most logical conclusion is usually correct.  For me, this list points to the most logical choice being Kaitlyn and Nick ended up together.  Kaitlyn favorited a tweet upon returning to “real life” after filming.  It sums up the whole season for me.  And in my humble opinion she is speaking of her confident man, her lover and warrior.  She is speaking of her Nick:

“He was the rock in her chaos that the rest of the world splashed off.”

That should fill my quota of posts for quite some time. :cutesmile!:

One Promise I feel like you jumped into my head yanked out my thoughts and put them very eloquently and perfectly into the universe! I've always had this gut instinct about this season 1) being a foiler season and 2) ending in K/N together and RS and his assertions will not cause me to sway. Since I have that gut feeling of foiler, it is actually a good thing RS spoilers has N being rejected/first FRC limo, etc. I was acutally nervous of a Nick F1 spoiler from him since I have a "foiler" gut feeling as they would not go together. Going back to the last foiler season, RS was also very sure in Des season that both Chris and Brooks showed up to the FRC and no one was let go early. He couldn't prove it but he just knew it.

Thanks for the love all. This season really has me hooked. I've been watching this show since the first season with Alex and none have captivated me as much as watching Nick chase Kaitlyn. I really hope that he finds what he is looking for and leaves with the love of his life.

Same here . Alex/Amanda, Aaron/Helene and Trista/Ryan hooked me on this silly show forever . But I agree, so far none of it has been as interesting as watching N & K beginning with all of the sleuthing in this forum that got me to start posting. If there's a "happy ending" to their story, it will definitely be amazing TV.
