Andi Dorfman - The Bachelorette 10 - Discussion - #4

Andi's posts on IG makes it seem like she's living kind of a Sex and the City single lifestyle right now with a new and fun looking group of girlfriends. Several of them seem to work in PR or for entertainment magazines or shows,  including Alicia Quarles from E!.  That probably helped her get into some pretty high profile events, like the VS Fashion Show this past week and Heidi Klum's Halloween Bash.  Andi must be living her dream right now. Her smile seems genuine and she has a sparkle in her eye.  I'm guessing with all that happened in the last year she probably ended up right where she always wanted to be.  I'm not sure that any guy from her season really stood a chance!

IDK...I kind of don't think she is hanging out with a lot of high profile NYC people. JMO but I do know those of 4-6 degree separations of "the in crowds" and no one ever mentions MEandI or running into her at events.
If you want tx to things like the VS fashion show they aren't too difficult to get.
I would think if MEandI were at places that big fish in big ponds hang we would be seeing more pics and page 6 stuff. She is pretty nothing here. IMOAA

See, I got the sense that Andi was doing pretty normal NYC stuff and not living some glamorous lifestyle or anything. There are a lot of people here who work in PR, etc. that it doesn't seem like a huge deal. Like, last week she went to watch the LSU game in a bar.

Still don't know how she affords it here, though.

I wouldn’t say that she lives a Sex and the City kind of lifestyle. As far as I’m aware, she hasn’t dated anyone since she moved to NY. I think she’s trying to enjoy her life. I obviously don’t know how she really feels, but it must have been hard for her to move to NY – to leave her home and her family. I guess she probably goes to all of these events to spend the time with friends. I’m sure she gets lonely living alone and I think the events are just a distraction. As for saying that none of the guys on the show had a chance, I completely disagree with that. Maybe you didn’t watch Andi’s interview with Chris Harrison. I think Andi took an engagement very seriously and I don’t think she would have gotten engaged to someone if she didn’t honestly believe she’d marry him and spend the rest of her life with him. But when life gives you lemons, you gotta make lemonade.

I think she would love to find someone to sugar her like Kelly did.

Except the chances of her getting that here are slim-to-none. Because those guys in NYC have zero desire to settle down and sugar daddy anyone. Unless she wants to date 45+ year olds.

I know. LOL but she does not know that. It's probably why she is alone a lot. I give her another 6 months to a year here.

Regarding my Sex and the City comparison, I was referring more to her hanging out and socializing with a group of NYC girlfriends. But I also highly doubt she has been celibate since she's lived there.  She may not be publically dating anyone yet but when there is a lot of young attractive single people in a concentrated area, hooking up with someone casually is pretty common.  I know she claimed in an IG response before she moved that she hadn't been with a single person since her breakup, but that was February. Since then she has claimed that she hadn't been on a single date while in NYC.  But a "date" and a "hook-up" are not the same thing.  Andi is a very attractive woman and she's out and about at bars and events where there are many very attractive men. I'm sure she's had her share of "fun", and her fans would never be the wiser.

And to answer the above, Yes, I did watch Andi do the CH interview. Multiple times. It's still on my DVR. And I agree she probably took the commitment of being engaged seriously, but I don't think she was ever in any hurry to walk down that aisle.  I believe she did really love Josh and did eventually want to marry him, just not in the time frame that she led him to believe.

 I feel in general, if a woman is truly ready to get married, and she has the ring on her finger, she will make it happen.  Andi never appeared to be motivated to make any plans.  Even Kasha, if I remember correctly, said that she heard from a source at Kleinfeld that Andi was a very "disinterested" future bride at the show she attended with Josh last year.  I think she loved having the guy and loved having the ring, but she was not ready to make anything official anytime soon. It's absolutely fine to take your time and to have a long engagement, but both parties need to be on the same page with that. I think that "miscommunication" was one of the problems in that relationship.

Andi said in an interview at NY Fashion Week that she did not think she would be as happy at this point in her life had she not made the move to NYC. That she visited years before, breathed in the smelly air, and knew that that is where she belonged.  So yes, I do think she now has the life she thinks she wants, just maybe minus the man.  But she seems over that  and happily single now. So I guess she did make lemonade out of lemons.

I wonder if Andi is Kelly's maid of honor? Why else would she be the only one traveling to LA with her to choose the dress and not Christy Hanson, Kelly's sister or any of her other bridesmaids.  But I love the idea of Showmeyourmumu dresses. I'm sure this wedding is going to be spectacular. I follow Kelly on snapchat and she's been giving previews. Wish I could be a fly on the wall at this one.
