Andi Dorfman - The Bachelorette 10 - Discussion - #4

Thanks for the info - I haven't followed all of these girls that closely so it was just an observation on my part. I'm neither a fan or foe of Andi, just find her interesting.

I actually enjoy her postings from NYC and the people and places she has seen. I don't find it flaunting but just her life at the moment. I guess she could go back to posting underwear and not sharing what she is doing outside of her apartment. ;)

As for Lacy, I usually like her and totally appreciate what she and Marcus are doing with their lives. However, I think it was a mean thing to post and I am actually glad she got some negative responses from it.

Although I too enjoy many of Andi's pics of the NYC sites, I definitely think she likes to flaunt it when she is with what she considers "cool" people. Do you follow her on Twitter? I think she is actually worse on there with her celebrity tagging.

And I disagree with you about Lacy. Her comment was very simple. "Women should practice what they preach". Yes, she took some heat for it by other commenters, but shade or not, it was simply a code she thinks one should live by, and it would appear she doesn't think Andi does.

I check her twitter/IG sporadically.  We will have to agree to disagree on this subjec

So much is up to interpretation and we don't know the behind the scenes.
 I have RBF and feel socially awkward at times, so can easily see how my own behavior could be interpreted as snobby vs simply shy and grossly, socially uncomfortable. This is often how I feel inside. I don't know what my outer appearance shows. 
I go back to the constant back patting and always interpreted this as a nervous gesture. Without being privy to facts, I am willing to cut ME some slack.

I don't see Andi as awkward or shy though - I think she actually carries herself pretty well. I was only speculating about her snubbing Lacey at the gma. Even without that hypothetical snub, I'm sure that Lacey has heard many, many stories about Andi thru Marcus, Josh, and Clare. And, she's hung out with Andi enough times to form her own opinion. If that comment was directed at Andi (which it seemed like it was), It was probably based on more than just an initial impression on Lacey's part.

It is more the way that Andi backs up my initial poor impression of her with her behavior (aka You Can't Sit with Us, Ess Ok etc). I don't get a sense of awkwardness and shyness with her and some of the others that she hangs out with give me a similar impression as well. Anyway jmo.

Me Four!

I can't even count the times people have joked saying "can you pipe down, you're being too loud", joking with me because I am the typical wallflower. I don't see Andi as shy either. I don't make up for my shyness by going on national TV and having to speak in front of millions of people. I see her as someone whose whole existance is wanting to be liked and accepted, and feeds off the attention she gets. Opposite of me, I avoid attention IRL like the plague.  All IMO.

Generally, I am the type to give people the benefit of the doubt. At work, pretty much everyone gets along with me...even those people who have a hard time getting along with others actually want to work with me because I am fairly easy going and give people some slack. That being said, even I have my limits. If you repeatedly show me your nasty, self absorbed, spoiled, entitled, p*ssy attitude, there comes a point when I no longer give you that benefit of the doubt. I take what you have repeatedly shown me and accept you for the nasty, self absorbed, spoiled, entitled, p*sssy person that you are. I accept Andi for who she is.

I get this all the time too - . Thankfully, my husband is the exact opposite of me so that makes navigating social situations a lot easier. But yeah, Andi does indeed share the trait with many of these other bach folks of wanting to be liked and accepted, which who doesn't? But some of these reality folk tend to take it to a bigger scale (mostly with the need to continue to feed off that limelight). imo

From what I've heard Andi and Catherine have a legitimate friendship that extends beyond the show. Not sure if Lacy is jealous of this or what the reason for the comment was but you can't blame Andi for having an actual friendship with someone and choosing to spend time with them over mere aquaintences. One of my friends went to high school with Andi and said she was completely normal and though popular, was never considered a mean girl at all. I trust someone that went to school with her versus strangers making an assumption because she's a pretty girl

I don't know the reason for Lacy's comment either, but I don't get the impression she is the jealous type. What is she jealous of? She is happily engaged/married, really doesn't seem to be that petty.

The person who mentioned Andi not being a mean girl is describing someone they knew over 10+ years ago. I believe what I have seen and heard of her on my TV. She is only nice when she is going to get something out of it, otherwise, she can be downright nasty IMO. I don't say that because I am jealous that she's a "pretty girl" because I don't think she is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and she has shown a not so pretty side to her IMO.

I guess I chose to believe in the good in everyone until they prove me wrong, but to each their own. I'm team Andi and until I have a actual reason not to be
