You captured my exact thoughts in these sentences, ironcat, thank you. It did seem like many of the early leads and contestants were actually looking for love or at least a stab at a relationship with potential.

I totally also agree with kim that the early years also gave us some characters who were either in it for self- biz-promotion (Alex, Aaron, Prince Lorenzo, Jesse, Travis) or just to make out with a bunch of beautiful girls (Bob). Aside from Jen's season (I had the impression she superior to the men & was purely there for self-promotion rather than love), I can't think of any of the other Bachelorettes who have not given me the impression of being sincere - until Kaitlyn.

In somewhat of an aside, I've also realized over the last couple of years that with all the Bachelor Family events that go on, none of the  contestants really has to worry about finding a deep pool of potential mates. Look how many have been introduced to their husbands/wives/gfbf as a result? ChrisL & Peyton, Deanna & Michael Stag's twin, Marcus & Lacey. I'm sure there are others that I can't think of or aren't aware of. The Bachelor network is fertile ground for strong relationships for those truly looking for a lifetime partner.

I suppose that's one of the few positive, healthy things to come from this show.

Hmmm, totally disagree. Andi and Deanna were about 1000x less sincere, IMHO.

I'm not sure about Deanna not wanting to find love (At the time, I thought she'd checked out once she knew Graham wasn't interested in her), but you're definitely correct about Andi not caring about finding love at all. I happily stand corrected.

As I read over a lot of the opinions about my initial note, I realize that I haven't really thought about the effect SM has had on this franchise. I'm a late-born Baby Boomer who, aside from FB & LinkedIn accounts, has not embraced any other SM such as Instagram, Twitter, etc. In fact, I'm pretty positive that not one single person in cyberspace has any interest in hearing what I'm doing at any given moment or seeing what I look like while I eat my Cheerios in the morning.

Having said that, I do understand that since so many people tweet and insta- about themselves so much (although I can't figure out why) it's a forgone conclusion that reality tv will never be the same partly because there are so many avenues of information now with SM. Gone are the days before Reality Steve & other spoiler sites when we, the viewer, watched the Finale truly wondering who the lead would choose (remember sleuthing sunsets, shoes, dresses...?). I guess I'm in the minority in saying that I kind of miss those days of "innocence".

Ok, back to the '70s I go. I wonder if I can find an episode of Charlie's Angels on tv...

I get it Lievta. I am a LBB, too. I don't like, nor understand the "look at me! Here I am! sm age. I like living a fairly private life and I am sure no one is really interested in me anyway. 
I loved the shadow angles, identifying moles and anatomy and candle heights. We made a fun game out of a silly show. I loved the ABC Rose game and Dreamer's Rose game. I looked forward to those games weekly.

I agree from what I have observed from the last two episodes and preview, K and Jared relationship seems to have pick up pace in leaps and bounds within a short time, and he seems the front runner now not Shawn. I and Jared relationship seems to be what will burn and crash, hence I am inclined to believe Jared is the sex gate guy. Obviously we are made to believe it's Nick because of last year's atfr sex reveal.

This means it is Sean entering her hotel room, then leaving in the elevator.  I originally thought it was Ben Z, but it is Sean, unless of course some other guy borrows his shirt.

So when Kaitlyn allows the guy in the purple sweater into her room  (room #405) it is Sean.  Either they have sex in New York, or he wants to complain about Nick's arrival.

ETA: it is also a match to the t-shirt that Kaitlyn is wearing when she is doing the talking head and crying, saying that the relationship just moved too fast and we made a mistake.

I am convinced that she has sex with Shawn next episode, in New York.

He is wearing a burgundy striped sweater, (same as NY date) and she is wearing a grey and white marbled v-neck t-shirt with a giant chunky gold ring.

If the shirts from the rap date match the preview, could it be that Shawn confronts her about Nick and she feels bad (I feel bad... I made a mistake.. but I'm not a bad person) ? We know from the preview for next week that Shawn is not happy about Nick joining.

In the talking head, wearing the same grey & white shirt, she also says; (off camera, I made a mistake.) on-camera; "... but it doesn't make me a bad person."   She is wearing the t-shirt she had on when letting SHAWN into her room #405.

Who knows, still spliced and diced, but that is the story that I am getting by matching clothes up.  (IMO)

The sex guy is not Shawn she said it happen between 2 and 5 dates Shawn date at the improve would be date 1.

This was sleuthed awhile back, and now again in Shawn's thread. Her top was matched up to be the same Room 405 due to the pattern that was zoomed in and matched. The maroon shirt guy was speculated to be Shawn re the elevator cap, his haircut, he has the maroon shirt on. His shirt was lightened and stripes were seen, the same strips as the elevator guy.

There is another cap of K with a grey top with white strips. I'm pretty sure that was sleuthed but I don't recall where that took place.



There is a further grey top that emusha discovered, has slightly longer sleeves.

So the above photo is a match to Shawn's shirt on the NY group date.

I was the one who originally thought it was Shawn in the elavator, based on the hairline. I do think this also matches the same night as the leaving in the elevator shot(IMO).

This hotel is in Dublin, not NYC.  So this conversation happens much later. I think Shawn is coming up to talk to her the week after their 1:1 in San Antonio because he misses her and only has a group date with her that week in Dublin.  We can speculate what the conversation was about forever.  Could he be coming up for a little 1:1 time alone with her? Absolutely.  Could they be talking about their connection and how much he misses her? Probably.  Do they have sex? Unlikely as the cameras are right there.  Did he come to confront her about Nick? Sure, but it would be unlikely that he would have this information so soon.

IMO it is most likely just Shawn trying to seek out alone time with Kaitlyn.  They have a nice time talking and sharing.  When he leaves she feels guilty about having sex with another guy and cries to the interviewer because she regrets the timing of her advanced physical relationship with someone else because it might jepardize a future relationship with Shawn.  Or at the very least disrespect him when He finds out about her relationship with "sex guy".  

It could even be that the interview conversation has nothing to do with Shawn's visit at all.  Maybe they scheduled the interview to discuss something entirely different and she is just wearing the same shirt.  Speculation.  Speculation.

It's not the same shirt, OP. it appears as if the sleeves are longer in the grey top she is wearing in the PI scene.
