Beside, Nick's whole "game", where he finds his joy, passion, excitement, encouragement, interest and satisfaction is in "the chase", him making a move, finding that connection that defines "the great" ... he is made to be the contestant, "the warrior who conquers the obstacles", not the lead who the bunch of girls would need to suck up to. Besides, he likes real, raw, genuine, straight-shooters ... and I don't think TBTB is thinking to bring another Kaitlyn for the 3rd round season.

so if you want MF to give you multidimensional characters then inundate him with too many choices for "good tv" then he's forced to allow some of his villians to show humanness

I think it's just a way so soften things with Kaitlyn. She took a lot of heat with the sex-gate coming out, and she's probably going to take heat for letting Nick on the show. This explains why she wanted to explore that relationship with him.

The problem regarding whether Nick would make for a good Bach lead or not is that he ends up being the focus of the shows he is not lead on, anyway.

It's the Nick show either way, imo (as much as people dislike this, it looks like this is the case even with K's season).

So Kaitlyn is the villian of her own season destroying all hopefuls by having an early physical relationship and as a bonus takes down Andi's season villian and crushes his romantic hopes and her own by not choosing anyone! Oh my!!! That is "refreshing" (Not) sorry not buying how this could be anything but sad if it plays out this way.....

Well I can think of two things that Kaitlin has done that we know of so far - she brought Nick back and she had sex with someone before the fantasy dates. Though we can't be certain yet the full measure of the consequences of these two decisions, they certainly seem to be shaping the trajectory of her season and most probably the outcome. So if the outcome is not necessarily what she hoped for, she was for the most part responsible for it.

How K is going to be able to stick to her story when evidence shows the opposite seems to be another example of K being her own worst enemy even now.

I read it again cos I thought that was an interesting perspective... I think the article discloses information that was not originally disclosed but it comes out in a veryyy protective manner where it's almost like K couldn't "help herself" she "had to follow her gut" "she could not say no" "she didn't second guess herself even despite the guy's anger" -- I wonder if it was a very clear PR move by the show to have this story come out at this time
CH was interviewed during his book tour and he said the now "embrace it" referring to the fact that info comes out regardless of what they do -- in this age of social media etc.

They seem to have clarified their "message" if you will as well as the social media visibility ...they even got nick to get new professional photos taken... to "clean up the image" maybe?

Also the bolded is not entirely accurate here's what she said in diff ways but this is the jist bit more grey areas - they both "understood" it as a friendship i.e. alluding to > it was not a declared romantic relationship

"We had a friendship before I came on and had that chance of being the Bachelorette, and we had talked a lot and had this connection that we both only understood as a friendship," she explained. "After I was gone, I guess he was missing that friendship and thinking maybe it was more than just a friendship connection."

she also said she put whatever relationship that could develop out of her mind cos she knew she was going to go on the bachette...

I def think she downplayed it significantly for the guys but I don't think what she said during interviews was wrong if it was a "flirtation" where they were not moving forward with a full relationship with the understanding that she was going to go on bachette...maybe bordering on friends with benefits if explicit messages were exchanges but still only lable-able as "friendship" this crazy noncommittal hookup dating culture allows for those kinda deals eh...

I think this article is just priming the viewers for when Kaitlyn choses Nick as her F1. They are softening his edit. The show has to remain controversial and dramatic to keep the viewers watching, but in the end the producers want a happy ending to keep viewers coming back next season. I bet by the time Kaitlyn choses Nick, most people will be cheering for them. If they show Nick and Kaitlyn's true characters and connection, how could one not love them individually and together. This is the main reason that the show "didn't start" until Nick joined. They want to show the difference in Kaitlyn: before Nick and after Nick. All the other stuff is just to cause drama and lead to questions about who she ends up with. They have to walk the fine line of showing a real relationship between the lead and F1/F2 and making the viewers question if and with who she will end up with. America already loves Shawn, so if she doesn't pick him America won't be happy. Now America has to be swayed to learn to love Nick so there is actually a really perceivable competition happening. They are just trying to tip the scales in Nick's favor for a little bit. And I think it is because she picks him and they are happy about it.
