Tanner narrates this preview, but it's Shawn's reaction that is the main focus. IMO the season really starts in epi 4 in terms of the main storyline ~ it's all between Nick & Shawn.

Yep. I totally wish Shawn would have turned around and just walked away from her forever. Why don't these folks ever do what I want?

IMO TPTB planned for Nick to join mid filming, especially after watching Unreal. I am assuming that Nick confided in one of the producers about how much he was into Kaitlyn & the SM connectuon they had. And bingo TPTB got their script to stir up drama with last season's villain.

IMO it wasn't left to the guys to decide if Nick was going to stay or not. The question still remains for me as to if Kaitlyn was into Nick as much as he was into her before she went on to be the bachelorette? Shawn B did say (and could have been producer fed) in the ITM what a lot have said on this board; if Kaitylyn was really into any of the guys above reasonable doubt at that point, she would have done what previous leads did & not allow Nick back. All these still leads me back to Nick being part of the season as somehow prescrpited, JMHO.

Because they have someone paid to get into their head and mess with them so much that what would normally be a no brainer just becomes no brain.

Of course it's prescripted!!

RS said that Nick knew before filming even started that he was going to go on the show, and I 100% believe him. I'm not totally decided on whether Kaitlyn knew or not (because they might have wanted to capture her true reaction), but I definitely believe that Nick knew he was going back before filming started. The fact that he was endorsing Kaitlyn for Bachelorette and talking about how going on the Bachelorette last year was one of the best experiences of his life? Not a coincidence, IMO.

I also think it's pretty obvious (at least, to me) that Kaitlyn wasn't into any of the guys. I think that she's having fun making out with the guys and flirting with them, but do I see her truly smitten by anyone? With the exception of Shawn, nope. It's like the Byron situation, where the producers brought in Mary because he wasn't into anyone. I think that the other returnees (Chris B, Shawntel, Jordan) were never supposed to stay for a long time and were just there for some added drama; Shawntel was in it for the book promotion and Chris B was in it...for who knows what.

People are going to have their opinions of Nick, good or bad. Some may change, most won't.

I agree JC. Every season is heavily prescripted. They just happened to find a guy that K had a strong pull towards to come back. In the past other contestants have come back, but the lead hasn't let them stay either because they are not that drawn to them or they have a stronger bond with another contestant. (Except for Byrons season which is funny because it ended with him choosing Mary one of the later added ladies.) The producers knew K was intrigued by Nick and thought they'd let him give it a try. She doesn't look like she is being forced to keep him. She looks smitten with him and the idea that he risked a lot to show up for her. I am just having a hard time figuring out how and why it ended the way it did.

This is Kaitlyn's journey and the guys are really in no position to tell her what to do with her love life. However, she IS looking like a big ole' hypocrite with how she felt it was unfair for Jordan to possibly rejoin the group last season. The guys have every right to walk away or not be as invested anymore or just stick around for the free travel and booze at this point. What a bad season.

Thanks Blu. It looks like the use of the word "betrays" is a foreshadowing of the spoiler IMO. US weekly gets the inntel on this franchise from the producers as already stated on this board many times by others.
