These two are wonderful! I love how Matty came up with the idea to make more money for photos with her and Art. Great idea (Richie did the same thing for Cancer in Perth, with asking donations for pics).  

I love how hands on Art and Matty are with Cure for Kidz. It really is so inspirational to see them use their fame for good!  

Bachelor love birds Art and Matilda have been hawking selfies for dosh at Auckland Airport - but it's all for a good cause.

All in the name of charity, New Zealand's hottest Bachelor couple Art Green and Matilda Rice were at Auckland Airport on Saturday morning asking their fans to make a gold coin donation for a selfie.

They were helping to raise money for Cure Kids as part of a joint initiative with The Loop Duty Free Store.

The pair had "a lot of fun", Green said, wearing Cure Kids tops, handing out stickers, carrying around donation buckets, bagging people's shopping and handing out samples.

"I've been pretending like I know what I'm doing behind the counter but it hasn't gone down well because I have absolutely no idea," Green admitted.At the busiest time of year for Auckland Airport, he said they raised a lot of money as travellers were more than happy to donate their spare change.

"It's incredibly busy, I've never seen it this busy. There's just people everywhere," Green said.

With so many people, he said they were asked for a lot of photos. So Matilda came up with the idea of charging a gold coin donation for a selfie with the famous couple.

"We got heaps," Green said.

The couple were up bright and early and got to the airport at 6.45 to spend two hours in the store. Green said it was a "pretty cool place" though asked if he would consider taking it up fulltime, he said he'd stick to his day job.

The Loop Duty Free has pledged to match all the donations made for Cure Kids in the joint initiative, with more famous faces expected to make an appearance in store.

X Factor judge and Fight for Life champion, Shelton Woolright, and ex All Black Steven Luatua as well as TV presenters Brendon Pongia and Walter Neilands, will be lending a helping hand too.

Cure Kids chief executive Frances Benge said they were thankful for the their time, and for what Loop Duty Free was doing.

"At a time of year when we are all so time-poor, it is heart warming to see how readily these famous faces volunteered their time to help raise funds and awareness for Cure Kids," she said.

The generosity of Kiwis had been amazing said Loop Duty Free marketing manager Katie Chubb.

"I have been staggered by the willingness of people, both famous and not, to pitch in and help when it comes to supporting fellow Kiwis. I hope that seeing these famous faces working in store for Cure Kids will encourage not just airport shoppers but all New Zealanders to support the invaluable work carried out by Cure Kids," she said.

The money raised will go to Cure Kids to help with research into the serious health conditions that affect Kiwi kids.
