Love the Instagram exchange. Ken has an aura of kindness and a great sense of humor. No wonder Matilda seems to be such a level-headed woman. I agree with you all about this NZ-season and the way the couple handle themselves post show.

I finally watched the ATFR because I still had not seen it. Now THAT was refreshing. As difficult as it was for Art to explain to Dani and others, he did a great job. It was also nice to see no cat fights between the ladies as we often see on the ATFR. I enjoyed watching parts of the proposal again!

Thinking I may need to re-watch the parts on the show of these two cuties. Definitely refreshing!

I think what I have learnt most from this couple is that it is important to know who you are and what you want in a relationship.
... Both Art and Matilda were themselves with each other.
... They both knew they wanted someone who they could be their fun selves with and have fun with.
... So instead of looking for someone that can bring out a different part of their personality (and this different part is not who they are day to day) they looked for someone who would enhance who they already are.

Kinda blows my mind how these two just had their head on straight from the get go. They understood/understand what makes a longterm relationship work is being friends as a foundation and being yourself at all times and not playing games. So very mature and refreshing. :Nod:

Yes, I also liked the show. I say they created a "classic". A show you can actually re-watch few times, because it's always emotional to see a romantic love blossom. The problem I have with this US version is that TPTB is trying to sensationalize the story by inserting too much drama, as many fights as possible, lots of back-stabbing/blaming others/slandering and deriding people who aren't "the norm" by showing/spurring their exaggerated weird/crazy/careless behavior ... which is fine for 1 time to draw viewers, but I personally don't have any desire to watch any of those episodes again.

Art & Matilda are also really lovely and appear utterly sincere. The show maybe has the innocence for being the 1st edition, but despite all the editing and manipulation that Marthur themselves confessed that exists, most cast was fairly portrayed, even those girls who were part of the negative storyline at the end before their exit were given a positive send-off (like when Matilda would say in her PI that she regrets saying something bad about the girl) ... so in a way the show didn't bite&chew&spit without an ounce of consideration for the future reputation of the girls (or the lead) ... and that was "refreshing". Because at the end, I'd like to think that people who went on the show might draw something good out of it (if they deserve).
