Oh gosh, I'd suggest you head over to Nick's very active fan forum if you really want to know why so many on this forum find Nick wonderful. He's just a smart, good looking and sensitive guy. He's witty and sharp. He's a hard worker who had done well in his career (and, actually has a career unlike other contestants who seem to flounder a bit). He loves his big huge family. He's a fantastic athlete with amazing legs and abs (in particular). And, he can really rock a Henley.
But, if you've already made up your mind, nothing I could possibly write that will convince you otherwise.
The appearance of Nick will certainly shake up the season and make it a lot more interesting. For the guys who have been making it more of a boys club, Nick's appearance will give them a kick in the b*tt.
If Kaitlyn is already "in" something with a guy there from the start, NIck's appearance won't change anything.
But, Nick is going on there for Kaitlyn and you gotta admit that's romantic!
Yes to bolded, haha. She could have said no though.. like Ben did with Shawntel.

I get not thinking it's fair but it has been done before. Byron kept Mary & someone else and of course Mary was the f1. I remember the other women that season being very unhappy but ultimately it was Byron's choice. I actually don't think the person coming in has a real advantage because the lead has already started to develop relationships with some of the others who have been there. In this case it's possible that Kaitlyn welcomed someone she knows is there for her after the way the season started with 2 Bachelorettes. I guess we'll see if she & Nick have chemistry.

I love Nick and his personality. He goes for what he wants and makes the person feel special and wanted even at the risk of it all ending in disappointment for him. It is interesting because not everyone thinks Nick is wonderful as you say above, infact he was quite polarizing to many who just viewed everything Nick did/does as conniving and scheming. I don't see his actions as scheming to "win." The whole point of this show is finding love/seeing if you are compatible with the lead, not forming a fraternity spending alot of effort trying to be friendly with the other men/fellow competitors. It is just a different strokes...type thing which is what makes everything exciting/dramatic. Many people loathe Nick and love guys like Josh, Chris S etc where I had no attachment/interest in either of them nor impressed by their demeanors/attitudes. I don't really think it is unfair for him to come on later in the season, if anything he entered giving himself a huge handicap because all the other guys have had time to get comfortable and start forming a bond with Kaitlyn. Plus it makes him an easy target again. Yet he is willing to still try and see where it takes him. I just admire his grit and determination. Plus it helps that I was rooting Kanick before this whole Bachelorette situation even took off just based off their personalities.
I was going to (insert any productive activity) but then well...........Nick

Nick is a specific taste, I get that. But if he is Kaitlyn's taste, and the whole point of this show is for Kaitlyn to find love, then why shouldn't he join the show? I've always had a problem with the "unfair to anyone who has been on the show from day 1" argument because that implies we really are watching a game show, and not a "how to help Kaitlyn find love" show. I realize the show tends to be more of the former than the later, but it is the later that the fans want and that the producers claim to want. Sure, they throw in people late in the game mostly thinking it will create drama, but if a lead sees potential there, then I think they owe it to themselves to pursue it. Would you really want the lead engaged to someone else wishing she had given Nick a shot? Of course not. So, if she's feeling it, then she should go for it. I think past leads have mostly used the "unfair" line as an easy way to say, "sparks aren't flying for me, the drama isn't worth it." It will be interesting to see what storyline gets used when it all airs, that is for sure.
Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

I agree, it's Kaitlyn's rodeo so she can keep whatever clowns she wants, I don't think fair/unfair has anything to do with anything considering how "unfair" the whole thing is starting with the basic premise of the show. Nick hasn't won me over but perhaps he will with Kait. I guess we'll see.dw_a_mom wrote:ICU wrote:Guess I just don't see why everyone thinks Nick is so wonderful?? Wasn't impressed with him before. The thing about Nick is:
You can always count on him for the unexpected (coloring outside the lines).
He brings the ultimate in romanticism when wooing the girl.
He is witty and sarcastic like Elan , I love that about both.
He doesn't have a problem making fun of himself.
He doesn't have a problem admitting when he is wrong.
He seriously want to find his other half and get married.
Yes, he got overconfident with Andi and TPTB fueled that storyline to the end. I can completely see how he sounded and acted obnoxious at times ( helped by editing too), but what I saw mostly was a boy overwhelmingly giddy that he had finally found the girl of his life and did not want to share.

You described Nick perfectly he is everything you said . He just makes my heart
I seldom have a fan favorite that I am willing to follow but I have followed Nick through his journey and to me Nick, Becca, and , Roberto are all so very unique and the best contestants to ever grace this show. IMO
Very well stated NR :yougogirl:
I'd add Sharleen to that list, and being she seems pretty close to Nick says a lot.

That's one thing I never understood. The guy spoke gibberish to me and constantly stuttered over his words. Just like Andi harped on Josh for certain reasons, Andi would constantly tease Nick for barely being able to string full sentences together. I can recall numerous instances where he struggled with that and where it was difficult to even follow where the heck he was going with a sentence. He might be a good conversationalist in real life, but I never saw that onscreen. Perhaps he struggled with his nerves and that's what caused him to speak like he did, but the only time I saw him talk straight through was in ITM's when he was hating on the guys.
